'89 GMC Stepside truck

I picked up my new toy on Sunday. It's an '89 GMC 1500 Stepside truck with a 350 V8. It's agricultural but cool (IMHO) and I love the turbine alloys Yee-haw!

Twiglove's wouldn't go anywhere near fitting on my driveway (those are the previous owners pics). His would be sticking out in to the road by a good few meters

I used to see them a lot when I lived in Florida, have not seen one since.

Very cool though. I also prefer GMC's to Chevy's. Proof is in my 'Fantasy Garage'

I don't know how true it is but in days gone by I believe people used to say a GMC was better built than the equivalent Chevy. You certainly don't see as many about in the UK.

When the Jeep dies I think something like this would be a very fitting replacement.

I've just sold my XJ to buy this. Although I've always wanted a pickup anyway, I actually saw this one as a result of looking for some turbine alloys for the Jeep.

A lazy 5.0 V8, no TC, RWD = wet road fun!

One time I remember dad coming to the end of our road. Full power in damp conditions and it did a proper tank-slapper. He kept it pointing the right direction though.

ETA: We nick-named it 'The Beast'

AFAIK the 'stepside' refers to the config of the bed in the back - i.e. you can step on the side of it! The pay-off is a slightly narrower bed. Stepside is a generic term used across all pickups and not specific to GMC/Chevy.

Yeah, its not too daft. About the same length as a Navara I reckon or maybe even a touch shorter. It seats three adults across the front though so it must be at least 6" wider than your average UK pickup. It's no harder to drive in the UK though than a Range Rover, Land Rover etc

Gave the old girl a good clean the other day and she scrubs up real purdy-like Sadly swapping it for something more sensible though

If I was keeping it I'd get some new door cards as they are still available NOS in the States. No point now I'm selling it - I'll let whoever buys it decide what they want to do.
