Mrs Wolfy's A3
Discussion
This is our first car since living in Dublin, Ireland.
Its a 2001 Audi A3 1.6 Ambition, 3 door in black and 90.000miles and a full Audi service history.
Spec as follows, Sunroof, Audi concert CD player complete with sub built into boot, Parrot bluetooth. sports seats, suspention etc
We only picked it up a couple of days ago, we payed €2070 for it, which I think is a bit of a bargain as it was actually advertised at €3000.
'Pah!' some of you may say 'its only a 1.6' but the road tax over here is crazy expensive. eg A 5litre will set you back nearly €3000pa!!
Anyway some pictures, courtesy of the previous owner. If the rain ever stops I will post some better ones of my own....
Pictured out side of the owners house, who was a bank manager and she had owned it from new.

In case any one is interested, the plate reads: 01 = 2001, D = Dublin (The city in which it was registered) ands the numbers are the actual number of registration in that year. Embassy cars for example would have a very low number between 1-100.

These seats are amongst the comfiest I have ever sat in. and they really do grip you!

Thanks for reading, I will be posting more soon!

Its developed a couple of problems:
First of all, it feels sluggish to me (yes I know it only has 102 bhp) its just that it feels lethargic, like its pulling a trailer.
The emissions light is on and I got someone to plug it into a VAGCOM, basically it came down to the temp sensor being snapped, pushed it back on, reset fault codes but the light came back on a few days later.
Pulling away from the lights, there is a slight delay where the car bogs down and the revs drop below idle then accelerates OK, I think its gutless, she thinks its fine! so she ends up slipping the clutch, just a little to get it going smoothly (more so than any other car I have driven)
Coil pack issue? I phoned Audi to see if it was covered under the coil pack recall but alas no.
Is it just a case of me being used to more powerful cars?
Also OT, the car has done 94k miles, is it time for a suspension freshen up? as it seems to be crashing over theses Irish pot holes and on a couple of occasions it has squealed it front tires at (what I would call) normalish speeds? its wearing P6000s
Any help would be much appreciated boys and girls!
