Peugeot 106 XL (Sleeper)

Hey all, decided I'd share my Peugeot 106 with you all. Its originally an XL, but has had a GTi engine and Rallye Gearbox fitted - making it a bit of a Wolf in Sheeps clothing!
I've owned the car for about 18 months now, and although it isn't quite as exotic as some of the machinery that appears on these boards, it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, and has been great at exactly what I needed it for (cheap, cheerful and fun!).
I put the engine in about 10 months ago after giving it a full rebuild with loads of new parts. Although I was originally going to fit the GTi Gearbox - I decided the 1.3 Rallye gearbox would be a lot more fun - as it gives much tighter gear ratios (through a higher final drive), making it accelerate at a fantastic pace.
I'll let the photos do the talking - Note I've tried my best to keep the exterior as subtle as possible (leaving the orange indicators and XL badges in situ!).

Well funny you should ask - it's actually currently sitting in the for sale section - i'm buying/moving into a flat this month - and don't have room for it unfortunately.
Promised myself I'd stick it on these forums before it went - just to see what the general response was - purely out of interest really! I've always been very proud of the way it looks/goes!

Its hard to say as I don't often take it right to the limiter. I know it tops out at about 115mph in 5th. First gear is almost un useable - but if you get traction it pulls like stink, and you'll need plenty of 3rd gear to hit 60.
There was a similar spec one on Rallye Register a while back that did a 13.9 second 1/4 mile - they're quick little cars when set up correctly.

Just done a bit of research on the figures for the 1.3 gearbox compared to the standard GTi.. see below

Whats the chassis like underneath as it is now 15 years old? Much rust on inner arches and boot floor? I've seen some terrible condition 5 year old ones but my 94 rallye was immaculate underneath so I think its a bit hit and miss!
Also is it still running 1.1 running gear i.e wishbones, struts and rear beam?
Tempted, I miss my 106's and saxos!

Its running full GTi running gear (bar the rear beam which is the standard 1.1 drum beam).
- GTi front struts
- GTi anti roll bar
- GTi brakes
- GTi wishbones
Its basically a GTi but without the bodykit!
Rust wise - it seems well underneath. The only spots it has is a small spot on the roof against the rubber strip, and a small amount on the rear towing eye - neither have really bothered me, although if I was keeping it longer I'd probably take the time to rub back and seal to prevent future issues.
Only want 1,400 for it, with a ton of spare parts - its a great car..

In fact thinking about it, while it was still a 1.1 it had an XSi rear beam fitted which I believe has slightly thicker Anti Roll Bars.
Its got uprated adjustable shocks at the rear and has been lowered 30mm, so body roll is actually very minimal.
