Mazda MX5 (Yet another hairdresser...)

Guys,

I've being meaning to get this posted up but just haven't had the time...after nearly a year of being carless, sold my GTi due to living in Zone 1 London, I found myself living back out in Herts and in need of a motor. I've always wanted an Mx5 (mark 1 spec) and after reading through several impressive build threads on here and finding myself molesting the appreciation thread on a daily basis I decided the time had come!

It was kind of uncanny, that despite not being in the market, on a daily basis I was scouring Pistonheads for a clean, cheap example of a Mark 1. The day came where I needed a car and also an MX5 which scratched my itch appeared, so I scratched my itch and on June 3rd travelled to Ascot and soon found myself enjoying a 70 mile b-road jaunt home - I was SOLD!

So then, here's some pics and a bit of a spec...

Good bits:

• 2 owners from new
• FSH - including service stamps, all previous MOTs verifying mileage
• 67000 miles on the clock
• SE spec
• Central locking, aftermarket clifford alarm and immobiliser
• Hardtop
• Stratstone Silver

So then in the two months i've owned Jewey she has covered 2,500 miles. I have discovered the MX5 to be a decent car which can handle most journeys - well as long as you don't have numerous boxes or shopping bags. She has had me pulled over by the rozzers and had a handful of waves from other MX5 owners in and around Harlow!

Bad bits:

• Passenger window has slipped - motor doesn't work, needs looking at.
• Central locking has stopped working - needs looking at.
• Alarm/immobiliser are giving me some hassle...

Future:

• Rims - deep dish, wide
• Lowered with some rake
• Bride seat
• Half cage
• Whale tail spoiler
• Garage Vary front lip
• Clear indicators
• USA rear panel
• Smoke rear lights
• Bosu exhaust
• Moody front lights
• Aero wiper conversion
• Speedster hardtop
• V8 conversion

Will all take time, as i'm moving house again, have recently bought a puppy, got engaged and am after a bike...

looks a nice mx5, they dont have central locking anyway, so dont spend too long trying to fixing that. the window is likely to be a snapped cable, diy fixable but a bit tricky to do as limited access inside the door.
