Picked up my RS2 last weekend:

Always been on my 'to own before I die' list, so thought now was a good a time as any.

It's the original Audi press car, and has been around the block a few times - you'd never know it however, driving sweetly and looking really clean for its age - its got a history file that fills a leverarch A4 ringbinder! Its in the "proper" RS Blue, and benefits from Bilstein shocks, Big Red brake upgrade, Milltek catback exhaust and a remap.

Love the slightly staid, boxy Audi Estate look with the overtones of Porsche, and for a 16 year old motor it really, really moves....once the turbo has eventually kicked in biggrin Certainly suprises a few of these younger whippersnappers!

And its always good to scare the family and upset the dog....!

Love it bow My overriding memory of the RS2 is when one stormed past me on the inside (jinking in & out of traffic) making such a wonderful noise!

Porsche did indeedy have a hand in the development, you are correct.

Look for all the Porsche bits.

I'll start you off - wheels...

There are plenty more!!

(Moniker, BTW. Which is used more for nicknames/pen names rather than actual badges or company names. /Pedant mode off, thought it may come in handy though smile )

Ive only seen one of these on the move once. It made a really really nice noise.

I think the only other times a car has made a noise that has left such an impression were an M3 CSL giving it lots of revs and a Carrera GT doings its best thunderstorm impersonation and the RS was just driving normally!

Wow awesome!

My dad still has the original autocar review 'faster than a McLaren F1 to 30mph...' - let me know if you want it and I am sure I could get hold of it!

It's on my list to own as well. Likewise drove my pals one a few years ago and once on the boil it really covers ground quickly, happy memories of miffing a C2s for a few miles as he pulled along side later with the look of WTF...

Motoring icon and about the only audi of that era I haven't owned!

Enjoy it! How many times round the moon has it gone

One of the best cars Audi have ever made, I have yet to see one in person. I've seen RS4s, the latest generation of RS5s, RS6s etc but never one of these old monsters.
