Oldsmobile Cutlass

Ebay should probably be banned because it is so easy to go on looking for something minor and come away with a car!

I found this '92 Oldsmobile for sale locally and snapped it up. It's pretty clean and apart from needing a good service and some door mirrors it's in fine fettle.



The interior looks like it has hardly been touched. All the usual American trappings, bench seat, column shift, air con, cruise control, power everything, and authentic wire-look wheel trims



Power is from a 3.3L v6 (reduced capacity version of the 3800 v6) with a mighty 160hp, handling could be likened to that of a cruise liner, but it is a very relaxing comfortable drive.

Not to everyone's taste but a bit different to the usual Mustangs and suchlike.

Hired one of those back in '92 and drove from SF, through Yosemite and Death Valley across to LA and then down to San Diego and finally back up to LA and dropping off in San Fransisco.

Happy memories and for some of the journey there were 6 of us.

We would hand over a few dollars each to fill the tank.

They were making the 3800 version of that engine up until fairly recently; it came with a supercharger...

There does seem to be a lot of space in the rear arches, though I would like to keep it as it came from the factory.

Looking forward to taking it to the local American car cruise, I've been in the Mondeo the last few times and it just doesn't feel the same!

I am suprised you found one in the UK. I like American Cars but I am afraid this isn't one of them , sorry!

A friend in Florida got one for $400 , still running about 6 years later.

They called theirs....'The Oldiac' as it was a Oldsmobile Cutlass but had Pontiac Alloy Wheels.

The one I rented was called an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciero or Ciera, I believe, but exactly like yours apart from being white with a blood purple interior. Nice and vulgar.

That is pretty cool, it's rare enough to see something like a Mustang or a Dodge on the road here, let alone an Oldsmobile. Looks like a fairly comfy barge.

Love it. Currently in the US and now I want to buy a 90's sofa barge when I come back. Don't care what, just need to be a wobbly old sofa of a car with bench seats and a crap engine.

the cutlass isnt what you are looking for then
