Though id make meself known on here! Wont bore you massively with lots of word so ill keep it to a minimum and post pics!

19th bday i purchased this iceburg silver ph1 172

which ended up like this by the time i was done messing around

21st bday i got myself this

and then after a year moved onto th ST which looked like this

A year and abit on and i had added a miltek decat & bluefame cat back, K&N gen II induction set up with custom air feed behind grill, few bits a peices here and there to tart the appreance up. Few pics

These then went on

And this week i started spraying my grills & fog surround gloss black and the grey blastic looks dated an cheap.

lower and fog surrounds done

pics dont really do it jusice but it looks alot nicer and cleaner now, i have some gloss black vynil (sp?!) to go under the lower grill and some gel overlays for the ford badges to go on.

Ill update as and when i make changes, cheers for reading

Very nice ST and I LOVE the 172. Had a Titanium PH1 myself, when I was 19 too actually.

How is the ST to drive, I'm considering one as my next car in the next 9-12 months, I'm just a little worried it will seem a bit heavy coming from a 172 and an MX5. Is the ST mapped?

On the contrary, a good write up is as interesting as pictures, if not more so. You can find pictures of cars anywhere, but a decent write up with some personal experience and opinion is always welcomed. I love that 172, they are fantastic cars.

Been a little while since ive updated this and a few things have changed.

Firstly i widened the track at the rear by adding 15mm eibach hubcentric spacers as i hate the 'tucked in' look.

before

after

The car was due for a service so i booked it into SCC Performance and noticed it wasnt boosting properly so this was to be looked into. It turned out to be the usual issues new MAF and boost solenoid later and it was fixed.

I also had the rest of the front end polybushed while it was there.

Car stayed like this for a while and i got the track bug! ME and my dad hired out a fully track preped boxster s from the place he gets his 911 work carried out RPM Porsche. We also had two drivers to assist and teach us aswell as carry out any work that might be needed through out the day.

The car

I cannot explain how well this car handles it really is amazing and through the corners in the right hands keeps up with some impressive machinery.

Few of me in action

Any way back to the ST, i finally got of me ass and got hold of a dreamscience handheld and mapped the car

Since doing this the car has improved massively it boosts so smoothly and is very progressive, also on long runs if driven 'easy' it has improved my mpg which is a plus also. I need to fit a new uprated I/C as the standard ones ford supplied are pathetic and this really shows on a warm summers day as the power is backed off from the ecu a fair amount. Also on the list is a MK2 focus RS clutch to deal with the power increase.

I also added some climair wind deflectors, bit marmite these but i really like the look of them. Few of it in its current state

sorry for the lengthy post hope people read it!

Looks in excellent condition.

A mate had a facelifted one with the Mountune kit on, impressive performance, even better noise

Very nice. May I ask, what made you change from the R32 to the Focus? How did you find the R32?

Always liked the look of them, but must say I'm usually not a massive fan of VAG cars.
