Ok so i picked this up last week, god knows why, the paint is utter crap and it runs odd and breaks down a lot.

However, i love it . Ive always loved Mk4 Escorts and always wanted one, it requires a lot of work which im hoping to do to it and restore it slowly aswel as driving it daily and enjoying it, when it allows me to and isnt breaking down on me

My friend had it and started to turn it back normal looking, then i got it, now it looks like this:





Im fairly sure it needs a good service after the other night, first time i gave it some it managed to cost me £8 in fuel to get home.. 10 miles... thats only just over 10MPG from a 1.6Xr Engine... Madness. Suprecars can beat that

Bodywork is shocking and needs doing also, unsure what to do yet with it.

It's a 1.6Xr Engine, Carbed, With an RS Turbo gearbox and an LSD

Will do a better update later as im leaving for College now.

But despite its many problems i love it, its a great car and puts a smile on my face

Whole cars different shades

The silver door was resprayed properly so looks newer than the rest of the car and my friend rattle canned the bonet before i got it so thats off also.

Currently getting to the problem of the shoddy idle/lumpy running and poor MPG.

I beleive the MPG being poor is down to the twin choke weber carb. Although going by the spark colour the mixture is fine.

Lot of backpressure being lost in the exhaust so thats what ill aim to sort next, that may solve the lumpy running at least.
