Hi All

With winter looming I figured it was time to change car. So I have swapped my comfy warm 330ci for ... an Elise 111R. So far I'm loving it. It drives like nothing else I've driven. Felt a bit weird not having power steering at first but once you get used to it its awesome to drive. Its has some poke too when you put your foot down. I havent pushed it too hard yet but a few quick corners and it really does stick to the road. The back end showed no sign at all of giving way.

Anyway, pics smile

Its a 2007 car with only 16k miles on the clock. Very happy with my purchase so far. Went to tesco in it this afternoon and surpisingly the little boot swallowed 4 full bags of shopping despite the canvas roof also being in there and could have taken a couple more.

Awesome looking Winter Car.

Am I brave enough to follow you with a sensible choice such as this?

Nice, I had a S1 a few years back and used it as a daily for nearly 5 years through 5 winters.

The driving experience makes up for the poor heater and having to scrape ice from the INSIDE of the windows smile

I bought my 7 October a few years ago. Just in time for winter as you add. No snow, but temperatures of -10. A bit fresh with the roof down.

Get some winter rubber on it and it will be fine. Lovely colour as well.

Snap! I had my 111R for 2 years and did 20k miles in it without complaint. They cracking little cars which never fail to make you smile. Hard top will be great for winter and then get it stored away in the garage come spring to enjoy roof off motoring. Next stop fruity exhaust and induction kit!

Nice car but take it easy in the icy conditions.

Was thinking of getting a 4X4 as a winter hack this year, now I realise I'm being silly, Elise is much more suitable to the job! I've heard a rumour they are very good in snow and ice.

Good on you!!

Paul, do you know if the previous owner on the logbook is Mr Gibson and the car was from Newbury/Thatcham???

Very interested if so :-)

(All good news, don't worry)!

The proper way to do winter driving! Had my vx for nearly 5 months now,and I am really noticing the roads are getting a lot slicker, even when not trying and being cautious!

Looks very nice, mine has a very dirty bum and I love it all the more for it! Used (11k in 5 months and counting!)

Like the colour, looks great with a hard top too. Driving for the conditions is never more appropriate in this car, go easy, enjoy, welcome, get over to http://forums.seloc.org/ too if you haven't already. wink
