Just thought I would add a few pictures of my new Cougar
Got it for £680 with mot till September 2012! Needs a good service, and is having a power steering pump fitted today as it was leaking, but apart from that it's a nice motor.
The IMRC is going to be replaced/relocated next week hopefully and I've ordered a decat pipe off ebay.....

And a couple of my ZS which I had for about 3 weeks before finding oil in the coolant tank :/

Looks smart enough for that kind of money.
I must admit I've often wondered what the Cougar's like having, briefly, considered one when I was changing my Puma for something bigger.
It didn't really float my boat lookswise and most of the reviews were lukewarm, but at that price it looks a decent motor.
Is it good to drive?

Its not a bad car to drive, only thing I've had that's better is a Mondeo ST200, but I am only 21 so plenty of time for better cars!I would have preferred a different colour but there isn't to much choice in that price bracket!
The spoiler isn't to everyones taste but I didn't mind it to much.... It was the stupid loud exhaust that annoyed me lol
The smurfs are just there out of boredom, had them on my old Mondeo 1.8 and they always get people pointing and smiling so why not

I've seen them from £50 upwards on ebay, but there is a mint ST24 in my local breakers. Already had the power steering pump and the little raditor for the pump off it for £55
Just got to find the time to get the imrc off it....
Have you tried looking for an ST or Cougar V6 thats been broken for spares on ebay? I saw an ST200 and the price for the upper and lower manifolds and throttle body was only £260 posted! Cheaper then I've seen elsewhere so it's always worth an ask.

Thanks, will have a look!
Lots of information on www.fordwiki.org which you may find useful - also look in the mk2 Mondeo sections as they are both the same car underneath.
How are you enjoying it so far? Besides the IMRC issues I love my ST24

I'm really enjoying, its nice to have a reliable car for a change, even if it does drink way more petrol then the perfomance suggests lol
I've just ordered an IMRC off ebay for 50 quid plus 6.95 postage lol I never even asked how much my local breakers wanted for the one of the St, but I'm sure the send parts out so if you ring All Spares on 01482 589641 they might be able to sort you out cheap?

Picked one of these up for 300 quid a few months back when my Merc got stuffed. Doesn't float my boat especially but it's quite nice to drive and fully loaded with toys. Had to replace the stupid waterpump, (metal restrictor disc ate its way through the housing pump itself was fine. - not the usual failure with these...)
