Won a car on ebay and paid for it.. Proton Satria Gti
Discussion
Won a car on Ebay that is a bit of a weird one.
Have been looking for a while for something to potter about in and saw this Proton Satria Gti, for sale, the owner wanting a quick sale.
Made a unseen bid, £610 + £22 Rail and Bus fare later, a 230 miles round trip, I am now the owner of a car with a few Lotus Badges on it
Full service history, recent stainless exhaust, HPI clear, 3 previous owners, and 10 months mot and 4 months tax. Not bad so far.

So points to note on journey back, exhaust is quite loud, a few random rattles inside the cabin along with some fading and some slight rust areas on back window. A very 'real' driving experience.
plus points, The car is nippy and has a very low seating position thus far handles fairly well. (on motorways)
I will tidy up the outside a bit and sell the Halfords aftermarket DVD/CD player.
Now looking for a Evo Mrk 3 turbo to bolt on
ohh the best bit, the previous owner paid £1200 3 months ago for it. I also have the orginal receipt for the first buyer, £12,999 in 2001..

Is it me or does it have a bit of "saxo" about it's rear quarter?
Perhaps it is the bodykit arches, the sill extensions and the grey strip running along the door but I agree, there is something that reminds me of a Saxo VTR/S there. Not that that is a bad thing, I always thought it was a good looking car considering how dire the basic models looked. For that price you can't really go wrong, looks like good fun.

Yeah, sorry, it wasn't meant as a criticism. I like it, reminds me of something else too but I can't quite place it.For that price you can't really go wrong, looks like good fun.
