New to the PH forums so I thought I'd put my car(d)s on the table...

This is for family:

This is for fun:

The M3 is in storage as I don't have a garage or any offstreet parking, but will have to get it on the road as soon as spring arrives. Just wondering whether to use a car cover or treat her to a rented garage.

Very smart OP! Always liked the E30s, especially the M3! smile

Any more details? Is it pretty much standard?

one of the previous owners made a few mods - it's an Evo II spoiler I believe

Lovely! What's the new BMW? Do you do a comparison E30 vs new as Evo did last month when you drive them? smile

it's an '06 330D SE. fantastic on motorways and on backroads (though keen driving is difficult when carrying the family). I haven't driven the M3 enough for a proper comparison, though after my last drive in the M3 the 330D felt a little like a wobbly barge. Identical 0-60 times at 6.7 seconds I believe (though I haven't conducted scientific tests yet...)

Rent a garage for the M3. Car covers are a faff, and are reported to contribute to scratches too. I also hear they can trap in water and inhibit drying, so they could actually make things worse! More likely, you'll end up like my neighbour and his 350Z, cursing every time you have to put it on before eventually giving up and not bothering!

The paint colour is actually sterling silver - just a particularly grey day those pics were taken

Lovely! I've been shedding it up in an E30 316 I got for peanuts and I really wonder what it would be like with a bit of punch under the bonnet as it really is a wonderful little car.

Very nice!!! Pretty rare cardinal interior, is it a European car? That interior was more common in US cars.

According to the history it was ordered by a chap in the UAE but never delivered; it was then sold by a UK dealer

Looks like it is fitted with a Evo '5' front spoiler, i.e Evo 2 spoiler and the Evo 3 splitter.

Nice car, liking the sterling silver with crimson red leather, all looks very well kept.

thumbup

Have you had it long?

What is the 6er visible in the last picture through the rear side window?
