Mercedes CLK 320

I thought it was about time to upload some pictures of my new 2004 Mercedes CLK 320. I picked this up in November but hadn't got round to taking photos of it yet! I am enjoying it so far, the car is extremely comfortable and smooth coming from a mk4 Golf GTI!
It has only covered 54,000 miles and is in excellent condition. I am pleased with how well the 18" AMG wheels look (they could probably do with a refurb though to get rid of a few scuffs). It is factory Avantgarde spec with full leather, updated interior and sport suspension.

What's the performance feel like? Heard a similar age SLK 320 floor it and it sounded pretty good.
Cheers! The only way to describe it is smooth, It's fairly nippy, not silly fast but you are so well isolated from road noise etc you can get up to naughty speeds and not even notice What's the performance feel like? Heard a similar age SLK 320 floor it and it sounded pretty good.

I fancied something more comfortable and less "boy racer". Ironically, I enjoy driving this car the most! Perhaps I am a prime candidate for said syndrome being 26 ! What made you go for this after the Mk4 then? I'd imagine the Mk4 was less 'involved' feeling than the E46 and this even more so?
Can I ask what your age is? (In regards to the often talked about 'too young for the car' syndrome!)

Thank you! I'm confused as to what the facelift changed? I notice the rear lights are slightly different on the newer cars but can't see much difference at the front.

'Full' Facelift encompassed cars which were 2005MY with the new generation of engines: 220 CDi Euro 4, 320 CDi, 280, 350 and 500 5.5 Litre. They had a 3 bar grille, different rear lights, the different centre console and some tweaks to the steering (new rack) including use of forged aluminium in places. The quality was said to improve dramatically by some, though I haven't seen that. The '03 plate cars got better trim clips/fastenings than '02/'52 in response to criticisms at launch though the rest of the car was right first from the start!I notice the rear lights are slightly different on the newer cars but can't see much difference at the front.

The 'interim' facelift cars were models with the older generation engines which were to be discontinued (270 Cdi, 240, 320, 500 5.0 Litre and 55AMG) and were produced some time in to 2005. These models got the facelift interior only and the rest of the car was 2003 spec.
The above is just my observations and I've not really seen it documented anywhere.
