Suzuki Ignis Sport
Discussion
Hello all, newbie from Swindon, obsessed with cars since birth and here's my motor, Ignis Sport in Silver, done a search on the Ignis sport on the forum and seen they get quite a lot of praise here, glad to join a forum where people love driving.
Had the car since june '11 and loved every minute of it, not the best car to be in traffic in but so much fun on the b-roads, surprises a lot of people at the lights too
Previous car was a Green Kia Rio 1.3 LX hatchback/estate/turd so the Ignis is a huge step up.

I had a look at getting one of these as my first (Road) car, insurance quotes of £3k soon put a stop to that.
Looks tidy and I bet its a fun drive.
Insured it when i was 19 for £170 a month, has now gone down quite a bit to £112 a month.

Probably one of the fastest cars i could insure at the time, was either this or a Hyundai Getz 1.6 which did 0-60 in a decent 9-ish seconds.
Thought it would just be quick but it's so fun aswell around the corners too

Great little motor...was looking into getting one to replace the corsa, but still looking to see what i can find for the same value. They look great with their standard wheels though. And as for the momo gear knob, I actually think theyre ok, had to get one myself as standard gear knob fell apart.
Oh and welcome to the forums

Nice photos
, were you on the ignis sport owners club? i recognize the top photo
I didn't have it long enough to join any clubs - only about 3 months. Swapped it for a Fiesta ST at a price that was too good to refuse.

Was a wicked fun car though, never driven a car before or since that seemed to want to be thrashed as much.
Some Ignis Sport carbon b-pillar covers have come up on ebay which is very rare, and of course there's a bidding war for them, they are now on £53! Can't believe how sort after and rare IS accessories are!

Wow, that Rio really is a turd, I assume you inherited it rather than handing over actual money to drive one of the worst cars of the millennium? That colour really adds to the whole appeal of it too!
I really like the Ignis, nearly bought a new one in 2001 (non-sport) but ended up with a Fiesta Zetec as I got a better deal and free insurance but the Sport looks like a good fun little car.

Payed £1500 for the pleasure. Wanted somthing different, was cheapest car i found to insure, boot came in handy too but everything else was awful. Should of bought a standard 1.3 ignis instead of the rio but just could not wait to drive so ended up buying the rio without really looking at much else :/ pxed it for the iggy sport

Well, interesting drive on Saturday, my mate convinced me to drive into a field and do a few spins for a laugh and insisted the car would not get stuck, then i went to exit the field ( small slope to get out) and it just span and span so they got out to push and got covered in mud from the tyres and now the car is filthy and so is the interior! Was good fun though
Also fitted a cheap air cone filter until my K&N comes, and a heat shield from a swift, still not sure about cone filters as they do make it seem more sluggish and will probably end up going back to my Monster Sport panel filter.
