Evening all,

Got this last night. Pretty tidy for the price paid. Noticed a few problems which I will sort before getting fueling etc done. Turbo seems a bit weak does not smoke though smile. Will most likely invest in a hybrid or t28.

Has uprated clutch and gearbox, bailey dump valve, TSW Razors (not sure what to do with these, they do look nice though)

Want to get a standard bonnet. Even though the "badboy" is growing on me frown lol

Always wanted one. Put a mk1 Focus RS on hold for the time being due to a change of circumstances frown ah well looking forward to some RWYB on the drag strip and maybe few track days in the summer.

Great little cars, had one in my late teens for a few years and loved it! I even managed to get to the stage where a head gasket only took me an hour to change lol.

Thats practice for you!

Pity it's not standard, but I expect there are none left in that state!

I vaguely remember reading a review in about 1989/90 which described the 5GT as "...the best-handling front-wheel-drive car, ever.... Lotus included...."

Then I have been lucky enough to drive several examples. Roller skate on steroids, I'd say - fantastic drive.

My uncle used to have one of these in the late 80's. The turbo caught fire, but amazingly didn't write the car off! I do quite like these. It's crazy seeing them in person as they're tiny!

Holds the road amazing. Great fun. Although can be difficult as clutch is pretty heavy/tight.

Will be on the look out for standard bonnet. Wheels I'm not sure what to do like the level of grip I get from wider tires.

Absolutely love these.

Had one as my first car back in 96 on a j plate very rare.

Then got a high powered one a few years later and got banned for doing well over double the speed limit - young and foolish!

Still would love another one but as said i would like astock looking one with maybe suspention tweaks and a nice healthy 150-180 bhp would be plenty.

smile It's been a while since I saw one of these.

A good friend of mine had one for a while and the thing went like a rocket, although that might have been something to do with it constantly overboosting...

Definitely needs a few little jobs doing to put it back to standard. OE side decals must be available..

Cool little cars (when they run). I really like the retro look of them sums up the 80's, they have a lot of character.

Remember my mate having one was a good laugh.

I had one of these as my first turbo car G386 WRY I think...red with glitter flick in the paint (not my choice) sold it for a touch over £1k and then saw it advertised with a K-Tec rebuild for the same money! Would have another

Mine was a last off the line tungsten grey J plater - never seen another J reg so could have been late registered???

Terrible little car in most respects - reliability and build quality is shockingly bad - as a budding mechanic at the time I spent many hours repairing the bit of st and undoing the messes the previous owners had installed in terms of "upgrades" returning it to standard - worst car I have ever owned but handling was lovely and i suppose it was quite quick in its day - most modern diesels will beat them these days though - the guy I sold it to wrecked it within a month

Never again

They are one of those cars that looks wise couldn't be improved over standard and most ended up looking ste with nasty body kits and cheapo accessory shop alloys

I'll dig out a pic and post it later when I'm not on my I-phone
