Hi All,
Been viewing as guest on PH for a number of years now, only just decided to start posting....
Took delivery of this last weekend after trading in a 5dr 57 plate Golf GTI (great car, sad to see it go, but time for a change). Something different for the annual trip to Le Mans come June

Its actually not black (just a rubbish camera phone pic!) its called Eclipse grey i think. This is the 3rd mini we've had; had an early 51 plate cooper (4 gearbox's) an 04 plate S (2 steering racks) now this one (wondering why now, i've just written this..!)
First impressions are it is much improved in terms of feel and build quality, and the engine feels pretty good and sounds nice!
Evoque is a company car; didnt get a choice on colour, but its growing on me.
Thanks for the comments!

Are you aware of the recent publicity concerning the water pump control unit/electrical overheating issue ? Recent Sunday Times motoring section had an article about this; certain models of Cooper S ( I seem to recall ) are prone to getting very hot and can cause an under-bonnet fire ... and BMW were a bit slow to issue a recall notice. Of course you may already be aware of all this.
Great motor. I currently always wonder if I should get one of these next, as I currently have a 2004 MCS. I think yours would awesome if your were to de chrome it
Just a couple of questions, how many miles you getting from a tank, and how much is it to fill, I ask this as its meant to be a lot better than the supercharged version. Should be fun taking it to Le Mans

Woo, an Evoke in a shade which isn't monochrome!
I was just about to post that as well. Nevermind monochrome I haven't seen one that was any other colour but white! I was beginning to think white is the only colour on offer. According to the wife, its doing about 30mpg (trip computer guestimate), though sure it will go down when i get in it! Claimed dealer combined MPG is 45!! It has Stop/Start on it too which they reckon is how they get to that figure...i'll eat my hat if it gets anywhere near it.
The Evoque is in Firenze red. There was an early build issue with this colour, in that they had to put it on hold (something to do with the Japan crisis - its where they source the paint dye apparently...??) hence why its not seen around much.

Makes sense, Ford had issues with a couple of Focus colours for the same reason, the factory which made some of the pigments was shut down by the earthquake. The Evoque is in Firenze red. Nice, colour combo looks great!
I have a 2006 R53 (but only had it for 2 weeks), most of my trips have been less than 6 miles and have been through very twisty roads which mean I don't really get out of 3rd, currently getting about 20 mpg - eek! I am sure it will get better once I take it on a longer run and stop 'enjoying' the twisty roads!!

I am avergaing on the clock 46.2mpg out of mine over last 2000 miles YTD, in this weather. That is mainly a 60 mile commute over mix of A and B roads driven to the speed limit with odd blast now and then. Even thrashing it all the way to the Ring got 37mpg.The Evoque is in Firenze red. Granted over reads, but this is by 7%, so a true 43mpg+ out of a hot hatch is mighty impressive in my book.
