Sold my MX5 last Saturday. It will be missed but it's made way for a much more serious machine!

weeping

And on to the new...

It's a 2002 VX220 2.2 NA and it's got some tasty extras with receipts for over £5000 not including maintenance!

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 alloys - 17" rear, 16" front
Toyo R888 tyres
Full Milltek Exhaust System with a racing cat
Thorney Motorsport Stage 2 Remap
Nitron Single way adjustable shocks
Mintex 1144 Brake pads
Carbon door cards
Carbon coolant tank cover
Sony Head unit with ipod link
Hardtop

I've just had the side engine mounts replaced as they were making a ridiculous noise but all is well now. It's such an exciting place to sit let alone drive and the handling is fantastic. No power steering takes a little bit of getting used to as does parking with the limited visibility but I love it!

Only got a few pics so far.

Got the hardtop off now and probably going to sell it so if anyone wants a silver hardtop let me know.

Awesome! I am getting very tempted to buy one of these fancy either a turbo or if a cheap N/A comes up getting it supercharged for circa £3k I think it is.

Enjoy it be careful in this weather with r888's!

Everyone is warning me about the R888s! Was out yesterday in sleet and they were fine. The only issue so far has been standing water on the motorway which was a wee bit scary but apart from that...

Congrats on the VX. Be careful with the 888's, but you've already found out they don't like standing water!!
See you over on .Org smile

I used to run 888's on my Caterham. toyo warn about not letting them get below 0 degrees C. I think the rubber compound doesn't like it. I think there's a bit on Toyo's site about it but I may be wrong.

Another choice is Yokohama 048's which are a similar tyre. Slightly more expensive but you may want to try them as an alternative.

I think this is what you are talking about: http://marktg.toyotires.com/file/TireStorage.pdf

I probably wont replace them with R888s; they are just a bit too impractical for an all year round only car. I'll most likely go for T1Rs or perhaps R1Rs.

Lovely progression you've made there thumbup

The Falken RSR is worth a look in for future tyre choices imo, they are in a different legue to the T1R

Woo, another silver NA!

liking the jump, and love seeing a dirty vx, used properly and daily is how it should be in my very humble opinion!

How much would you be after for the hard top, and is it a lined version or not? PM me through here if you prefer smile

Odd place to put the speakers - passenger foot well, bound to get damaged!?

There's one thing that bothers me about these cars. My Father has the turbo'd version and loves it. He has had company cars for most of his working life and quite often they were Vauxhall's.

People seem to buy these as a Lotus Elise alternative but be ashamed that they are driving a Vauxhall. Many de badge the Vauxhall badges where they wouldn't on the Lotus, some people even take the Vauxhall badges off and put Lotus badges on. If they wanted the Lotus, buy the Lotus, otherwise realise that you're driving a Vauxhall.

My old man loves saying that he drives a Vauxhall that can out accelerate most cars on the road!

Not that one. I saw that on the owners club and took a double take as it's so similar to mine!

Great purchase, especially with the extra bits on it.

Exactly the spec we are after when the missus sells her modded smart roadster later in the year for a VX!
