Nice car!
I have always liked Vauxhalls, but these (IMO) are a very smart motor in that black. As you say, it is a bit different to 1.2 SRi's.
Enjoy!

thanks very much! really would just like to look after it, and become a not thrashed example. still insurance group 8 and 0 to 60 in 8.0 secs is pretty good i think.
I really like these.
Drove countless 1.2 SXi models when they first came and thought they were excellent little cars. I was then given a 1.4 SRi as a courtesy car for several weeks and loved it. They look good especially with the 16" wheels and M3 esque mirrors. The 1.4 went well, handled pretty good too so the extra power of the 1.8 can only make things better.

the mirrors are nice, but are a thief magnet as alot of people get them stolen, as they are worth quite abit. also find them abit difficult to see out of sometimes. at 4000 revs is when this engine comes alive, pretty good performance i find. surprises alot of people on dual carridgeways and motorways. but really does need a sixth gear. noise does my head in. Always found these pretty interesting as they are quite rare, as you said 1.8 and 0-60 in 8 seconds. I'd put a 1.2 badge on it and surprise a few people!
ha ha, quite a few people have said this. but the engine noise would be a dead giveaway as this is belt driven and the 1.2 and 1.4 are chain driven and have that electric type of noise when they go past.JayTee94 said:
If you don't mind me asking. How old are you and what is insurance on this?
You have got me thinking as I will be buying my first car soon!

im 24, insurance is 800 a year. it would be cheaper if i hadnt had a crash when i was younger. but i think its cheap to run, cost around 45 pounds to fill up, official MPG is 35, which isn't alot but im sure it can be bettered if driven carefully.keep in mind though if you have a heavy foot it really does drink. servicing and oil changes are cheap. and road tax for 6 months is 118 pounds. You have got me thinking as I will be buying my first car soon!
