2012 Skoda Octavia vRS 170 TDi
Discussion
I went out with my wife and children at the weekend with the intention of buying new outfits for a forthcoming family wedding, but bought a new car for my wife instead!
We made the mistake of "just popping in" to a Skoda dealer we were passing, took their vRS demo out for a spin and did a part-ex deal within 30 minutes. Loads of options for free and a very good part-ex deal on my wife's existing car, "which was nice".
We'll collect the car in the middle of next week. Showroom pics from my phone, below:

Looking forward to collecting it now.
We've still to get those wedding outfits sorted too....

Good effort, looks lovely in white too!
We have a 2011 Race Blue version and it is a brilliant car, good at pretty much everything and I think you'll love it! Have a look at my garage in my profile as I've put a few things down about it.
One thing to check - they've just done a recall for the diesel injectors, ours went in this week, but it only took 30 minutes tops. Yours might not need it but it would be best to ask

I'm glad we aren't the only ones...
Went out today with the intention of test driving the Hyundai i40 estate, only the salesman wasn't interested in going out. Popped in to the Ford dealer on the way home - not a single Mondeo estate on the lot. Decided to visit the Skoda dealer next door.
Very accommodating, they even put cbeebies on for the kids. They had a vRS to drive, it was fun. Even better, they had a car full of treats they needed to shift and 'dropped the VAT'.

@ Puggit: you won't regret it. We love it. Our dealer too was very good and we had a stack of the options for free, including the Columbus Nav and MDI interface.
The car's a few weeks old for us now, has some 3,000km on the clock.
Acceleration from 150km/h - 200km/h is surprisingly rapid. It's seen the dark side of 200km/h on a long run back from the UK recently, and the trip still saw the car run at 45+ mpg!
Quite astonishing.
The vRS 170TDi is the best selling model in Luxembourg.

On my second Octavia,
had a 06 VRS petrol, swapped it for the 07 Diesel Scout - both brilliant cars - reliable comfortable and pretty good on fuel - even lugging the 4wd system around - oh and room - I've slept laid out flat in the back of the scout with the rear seats flipped down.
New Octavia 3 due late this year going to be interesting to see how they up the game...
