Hello!

After two years of pottering around in a VW Jetta, I decided to go for one of my all time "must own" cars. Ever since I was a kid I have been obsessed with old fords and I dreamed of owning a mk3 Ford Capri! So in January I went for it, it's a '86 2.8 injection "Special" model, which has the added bonus of an LSD amongst other things.
Took it out for the first drive today, still got the smile on my face!

Thats a beauty! My workmate has just got his Capri back on the road after 6 years! Only a 1.6 pinto but looks good sideways in my mirrors

Great car. My wife may not agree but I love fast Fords.
Im 40 now and I would absolutely love a Capri 2.8i or an original 3 door XR4i with the whale tale.
My Mother had both and I loved them both.
Enjoy.

That looks like a lovely example you have got for yourself there. I have had lots of Capri's, there is just something that is so "right" about them.

LSD too. I bet it puts the power down really well.

Looks a good one.

Nearly traded up from 2.0 laser to an E reg 2.8 back in around 1995.

The price was too high at the time - but still wish I had bought it.

That looks lovely Fella, always promised myself one of these, was looking this time last year but to no avail, ended up buying an old Sapph again instead...
One day maybe, Mk2 3.0s, not many about now, Mk3 3.0s or a nice 2.8 like yours.
Good luck with it, she's looks a beaut...beer

Ford call it "Lacquer Red", but yes it is burgundy! I always preferred white and black capris, however the colour is growing on me! I haven't seen many 2.8's in this colour.

Lacquer red!!! Thats what I meant, burgundy red is another shade - mum had a Fiesta in lacquer red when I was a kid

Very nice, had two back in the day, very fast back then and very reliable, never kept my cars for long but kept both of them over twelve months and put around 30k on each. Twin pipes smokin

My dad used to have one of these years ago (one of three Capris he had). What a beauty.
