my new first broken car! peugeot 306 1.4
Discussion
bought a peugeot 306 for 500 quid and its cr*p. brake fluid leaking, head gasket gone, clutch bearing making weird noises and engine randomly starts to rev.
so I've come up with two reasonable solutions (as fixing the problems is too expensive):
1) scrap the car and cancel my insurance
2) cancel my insurance and just play around with the car to learn more about the inner workings of a car.
Im very keen on option 2 but my parents wont be too happy with the driveway being used up by the car.
my question is, what can i actually do with the car to learn more about the engine and stuff, i dont want to spend too much money and i dont want to mindlessly taking things apart either
tad bit of advice would be nice!
thanks

Well, you could probably fix it enough to not scrap it. How do you know what's wrong with it? Did a garage tell you?
yhh, my dads mechanic checked and told us, and as for the brake fluid, we topped it, only to find next morning that it all leaked and the brakes were very floppy :\The fluid will be leaking into the read drums from the wheel cylinders. About £10 each. U will need a set of shoes too. About £15.
Head gasket set is prob about £25. And can be changed in about 2.5 hours if you no what your doing.
By the bits and have a play it's not a massive amount of money to lose.
If your not sure what your doin have the breaks looked at by a pro before you use it!
