My Supra Turbo / GTO kit thing

Some work projects have finished and I’ve finally got some time to spend on my car so I thought I’d start a thread. It’s a 1994 Toyota Supra turbo which someone had started to fit a Ferrari 250 GTO kit too. I bought it part complete;
It arrived about 6 weeks ago and I didn’t really have time to do anything with it. It turned out to be about 2 inches too wide for my garage so I rattle can painted over all the filler to give it a bit of protection from the elements and stuck it under a tarp on my drive;
Today I decided the first step was to make sure all of the bits that are going to be covered over are in good nick. Being a 90’s jap car the sills have started to rust. At the moment it’s only surface so today I wire brushed them all off, covered them in ‘Metal Ready’ and gave them a good coat of POR15;
Yes, I got it on the drive. Plus I have a black finger due to ripping one of my gloves.
The intention is not to create a GTO ‘replica’. I like the shape but it’s different from a real one and it’ll definitely sound wrong. With that in mind I don’t think I’ll necessarily be sticking to period looking lighting, mirrors etc. I have a list of stuff to acquire. First off is headlamps – not really sure what to go with. I want bright, modern, units not the classic Lucas ‘candle in a jam jar ‘ ones I am currently in possession of. Need to find some that look good. Door handles or solenoids and no handles is another thing I need to decide on and source.
Exhaust is also an open question. It has a ‘Fast and the Furious’ dustbin at the moment. I’m either going to cut that off and add a further section of 3” straight pipe or something else. I can’t get around the nagging idea that I’d quite like side pipes...
Any suggestions will be gratefully received if not necessarily implemented!

Lexus V8 fits lovely in there I think; not exactly right but a bit more like it. As for the lights, you'll probably have some options - how big is the hole? I guess 7 inches across, in which case any upgrade kits for the MGB will work, and there are some pretty good halogens available.

No hole yet, but the panel is ~8 inches across. There do seem to be quite a few drop in replacements for various classic makes.

I do rather like the idea of picking up a part finished replica of something for not too much, and then changing bits and bobs so it ends up unique and beautiful (hopefully).
Will certainly be keen to see how this build progresses though
