A few pics of my Nissan GTR I picked up a few days ago.Its a 2009MY one owner car with 12k on the clock,full Nissan HPC and Litchfield service history and bar a couple of small stone chips on the front is pretty much like new....even still has the new car smell inside!!
For anyone who has never driven or been in one,believe the hype! They are utterly wonderfull cars in every way and at prices now starting at around £35k an absolute bargain IMO
PS.Please forgive the naff phone pics and the filthy state of the car.As soon as I can stop myself from killing the environment in it i will give it a full on clean and take some decent pics.

Well if its pre MY11 it could be very jerky. You can get the Litchfield 2012 gearbox software upgrade which should improve this. However, I won't drive a car like the GTR in pure start stop traffic... such a waste for its potential.R
Ive only had it a few days so not too familiar with them yet but il try my best to answer a few questions.
As far as being expensive to run,yes they are not going to be cheap as cars go.I did an awful lot of research before buying one and to be honest,after hearing a few stories was nearly put off!However,after buying one I am now already begining to feel alot better already.
Fuel economy has so far shown me 30mpg on the motorway drive home and around 19mpg town driving which is virtually the same as my old M3 so no problems there......although its a COMPLETELY different story when you put you foot down!!
Tyres and brakes are very expensive and and you could kill them very quickly if you were doing trackdays with the car.Mine is still on the OE dunlops with quite a bit of life still in them,which after 12k miles shows the car has had a pretty easy life so far.Same with the brakes,virtually no wear so far and should be good for at least 30k miles providing they dont crack.
Tax is top bracket £470/year and insurance for me is a reasonable £720
The biggest cost is probably servicing.For the first three years the car should be serviced every 6k miles or every 6 months to ensure the cars three year warranty is still valid and nissan are pretty strict about this.My car has been serviced to the schedule and because of lack of use over winter two of the services were only a couple of hundred miles apart!!
Now some of the cars are out of warranty,most owners will be servicing their cars every 6k miles or anually,which ever comes first.
Nissan HPC labour rates are also pretty steep and you would save a good few quid and probably also get better service by using a top specialist like litchfields or Severn valley.

Exactly as I hav found mine, I don't think the gearbox is too jerky round town although mine had a new gearbox under warranty 1000 miles ago and the HPC said it would have been a newer updated box. Warranty bill was £25k!! I too don't think there is a need for more power although I feel for the value the stage one offers I will get that and the 2012 box update. I think with the extra noise from the y pipe etc it could transform the car. I was also worried when the NHPC guy showed me the bill and he was trying to persuade me to extend the warranty with them at £2600! I have spoken to Iain and Litchfields and others that have said Nissan go over the top with replacing gearboxes when a GTR specialist could fix any problem without the need to replace. I am going to get the Litchfields warranty which should be ready for this week. Mine came out of warranty on Saturday. Mae sure you book yours in a few days before warranty expires for a free warranty healthcheck! There are a couple on AT that are for sale that have had new gearboxes and they both have invoices for £27k its stupid when you think about it I could almost buy another GTR for the price of that.Having said that,there are cars out there now with 40k miles on with no serious problems so im im not going to loose sleep over it.
Absolutely awesome car for the money and so easy to drive.
I have only driven one for 4 laps around Prestwold Hall circuit in Leicestershire and it felt so well planted to the tarmac that you couldn't put a foot wrong.

I could be wrong but I always thought the 'gearbox issue' was just something the Porsche fanboys jumped on as the GT-R had no real faults but a gearbox failed once.Having said that,there are cars out there now with 40k miles on with no serious problems so im im not going to loose sleep over it.
