After a few years of doing this in Japanese things: (mainly Mx5's)


I've decided to see what all the fuss about the VAG world and invested in this:

My new 1991 Black 3 door Mk2 Golf Gti 8v, in black with BBS alloys. And I've got to say.... even after 24 hours. The little buggar's getting well and truly under my skin!

Lets just say it was a sub £1400 with 2 days shy of 12 months MOT and 6 months fresh tax.....

Am i correct in spotting that it has no cover over the cambelt? Looks a bit tricky if you ask me.

That looks lovely, still wish i hadn't sold my mk2 jetta.. But yes you are definitely missing the plastic cam cover!

Eagle eyed award number 1 :P Yes I removed it as it wasn't fitted properly and was catching on the alternator belt. New one is on order

Cheers mate, mechanically its pretty much sorted. Needs a speedo cable as am currently having to use the gps for that! And there's a few dents and scuffs on the bodywork but nothing that couldn't be sorted. Minimal rust, apart from round the filler cap (where they all go) but got a replacement panel as part of the deal. Interior is spot on and 100% original. Sunroof doesn't seem to leak even after getting "tested" by my karcher :P Is a '90 spec so has the multi function computer which I need to look at sorting as not everything works (no massive deal) .... apart from that I think I got a cracking deal. Am very pleased

Lovely car!

Do the quick shift and weighted linkage mods and the gearshift is miles better, really close and positive.

I loved my Mks GTIs (it is GTI - a small i shows it's French )

Uprated ARBS also make a huge difference without altering the appearance.

Good man, i would suck to get something caught between the cambelt and have it skip/break.

All GTi's had the MFA.

Normally vacuum leaks that render them useless.

My mpg was always out.

what suspension is it on, looks to low to be standard. first thing id do, even with a standard car is poly bushes all round. doesn't have to be rock solid race ones, but it will tighten the car up in the bends and make it much nicer to drive!

Big bumper version best IMO. Makes the car look much more aggressive. Top car OP.
