After doing a bit of growing up the wife and I have decided to buy a bigger house and start a family. This meant that the TVR had to go to free up some cash for tarting up the house and getting it on the market.
So I started to look around for a family car that would serve us well. Originally I started to look at Fords, Vauxhall, Seat etc until I just chucked a budget into the classifieds to see what it came up with, this is where I discovered the MG ZS.
I found this one on Ebay, 39k miles on the clock FSH and 2 owners went to have a look at it and the car is mechanically sound however as you can see from the pic's it was in a right state!
Took a days cleaning and it still isnt perfect need to get a buffing machine on there to get rid of some of the small scratches but other than that well chuffed with it.
Just ordered an Xpower Janspeed back box as the one on there is rather rusty...plus it should make the V6 sound a bit more fruity!

It's the kv6 from a freelander the only major problem they seem to suffer from is the veriable intake system failing which causes a drop in power.
Just had the timing belts done as they should have been done 2 years ago and the previous owner hadn't done it. Came to £700ish but its only every 6 years or 80k miles plus I am sure its cheaper than replacing the engine.

Nice buy - was considering one of these, my only worry is how strong are the engines? Being K series-derived I am fearful of it being high maintenance.. 
The V6 should be ok. My brother went VVC MGF, ZS180 and now BRM 200. The ZS was very nice, although the BRM is a sharper drive and feels quicker.Had google image a BMR 200....wish I hadn't now lots of rather well built half naked men.

A few updates to the car, the original MG badges fade as you look at them apparently so I decided to get something that looks a little sharper than the OEM cream and red.
The rear was a b
h to do, the badge I was sent was flat yet the boot isn't. In the end I had to cut the centre out of the original badge and use the plastic surround to mount it.
I also got shot of the nasty silver head unit for something a little bit more up to date. Now just got to work out how to stream music to it from the Android App.

Does it have a USB port? I just plug mine in with a cable (or connect via bluetooth).Daston said:

Nah it was a limited edition Rover 200, among other things it had a custom red leather interior and aluminium panels. Orange lower intake on the bumper (a non to the orange noses of past BRM race cars). Some other exterior trim changes. The big difference is the close ratio gearbox, LSD and uprated brakes/suspension. That and it only weighs 1040kg.I guess a BMR 200 is the Rover Coupe?
New Exhaust arrived today and luck would have it my kind neighbours took it in for me
Unfortunately it doesn't look like city link treated it as well as they could have done and I have a dent on the lip of it
Any ideas if the can be bent out? It's only a mm thick so do you think some heat and a round bit of metal would work?
Or is it a case of send back to the supplier?

Managed to get the exhaust bent back to an angle I am happy with, it certainly isn't as obvious as it was.

Quick sound comparison, before any one says....I don't normally rev my cars hard without warming them up properly however it had been idling for 5 min so didn't think it would hurt it that much just this once.
