Ferrari 360 Hybrid - Its been a while....

Hi Chaps and Chapesses!

It's been a while since I have posted on the forum. Just wanted to give you all a quick update on progress of my dads 360 hybrid. Yes it's still alive and kicking and moving forward.

For those of you who haven't been following the build, my dads car is a hybrid of Lotus V8 Esprit chassis with Chevy small block V8 yoked up to the Esprit gear box. Clothed in a heavily modified Peugeot 406 coupe body shell to take the chassis and the Extreme 360 kit.

The build has really captured the interest of many on this site and others and I just wanted to say thank you all for your continued support. I know that for some you get the usual kit car comments..."who wants to be a poser" etc... For us this project is ALL about the engineering having fun creating something different. The body is basically there to keep the wind off!

We have re-launched a dedicated website for the build at www.dads360.co.uk I have updated the site with all the pics up to and including June 2012. I will be adding an all new Build Diary section in the coming weeks.

Yarp. Finally someone with sense. It all about messing around and getting the old fingers and thumbs dirty.

I'm confused - The esprit had a fibreglass bodyshell, wouldn't it have been easier to glue the bodykit to that? And also a tonne lighter?

The Esprit body shell was burnt out. The Chassis was complete, but alas the body shell was long gone! Saying that what was left was rather heavy in itself. The Peugeot 406 body is purely there to fit the 360 kit onto.

If you look at the pictures (www.dads360.co.uk) you'll see that the vast majority of the Peugeot is gone! The Extreme kit we are using is very light so power to weight ratio will be in our favor.

The Chevy engine will be pushing 400bhp plus and we will have all of that creamy torque!

That area of the site is coming soon. Just in the process of putting up a holding page. I have been speaking to my dad over the past few weeks and logging all of the mechanical details to put on the site. Once it's up I'll let you know.

tried to look on the site but it was so painfully slow to load anything I got bored and gave up. Shame as it sounds interesting. I was trying to see if the 406 was one of my old ones lol

It's quick enough for me, everything loads straight away.

OP what's the plans for the engine?

And I can see the holding page now, good stuff.
