Porsche 924... And the rest!

I had always joked that I'd like a Porsche before I was 21! Unfortunately I didn't get there but at 21 years and 5 months I reached my goal earlier this year:
I had to sell the Mk2 Golf GTI I overhauled in the spring to fund it though
I do still have my daily Panda 100HP:
Since the last update to it's own thread it has had KW Variant coilovers fitted in an attempt to reduce the bouncy ride characteristics.
And my first car (owned since I was 15 in one form or another) is in hibernation at the second:

love that A clean, restored beetle with a porsche engine in it will be a prized possession in years to come, keep it and store it the best way you can.
The Porsches are awesome pieces of kit - there's a long, long WIP thread about one on this very forum where someone acquired on that had been unloved in the side of a garage under toot and during the two years afterwards, how it was nursed back to an active life, truly one of the more exciting stories on here.

So with a bit of hard graft the Porsche cleaned up nicely...
But I decided it was time to move on at the end of the summer to something a little cheaper to insure.
Enter my 1977 BMW E21 320. 1 Owner until 2011, 35,000 miles from new and totally pristine inside and out.
Here are some updated photos of the Beetle too for anyone that might be interested...
Just need to save up the pennies to take it rallying now!
But I decided it was time to move on at the end of the summer to something a little cheaper to insure.

Thanks all! I don't plan to change a thing. Maybe a smaller period leather BMW steering wheel as the standard one is a bit on the large side, but that can easily be put back! It was advertised for sale locally by a friend of the son of the original owner.

Think i remember seeing your Porsche a couple months back at the ferry boat ... I was on my motorbike and nearly binned it on the gravel stopping by for some grub!

I transferred my classic policy from the Beetle (£189 p/a with 2 years NCB) over to the Porsche for the summer for a relatively small additional fee and switched it back when I sold. I couldn't have afforded a years policy outright I don't think, but it was HIC that provided the cover. As a 21 year old with a porsche 924/944 itch that needs scratching soon, can i ask who insured you and how much you were paying?
E21 is absolutely stunning!
Personally I wouldn't bother with a 924 and just save up for a 944. Whatever people say, the 2.0 4 pot sounds and feels like a van engine and I just didn't get on with it.

What do you expect from a sub £1k Porsche! Well into shed territory. But a fun shed. 
It was nowhere near as bad as lots of others I looked at. Very little rust and a clean interior... just a bit mechanically 'loose'.
