Just bought a black '92 CRX, 108.000 miles :)

Just came home from making a deal on a 1992 CRX in black with 108.000 miles. Very nice fellow and a Honda fan like me (I like all sorts of stuff, but BMW and Honda are dear to me). Even gave me ~50 £ back because I let him use the car rest of day (seemed like he needed it) and meet me tomorrow for the paperwork instead.
He sold it because he was getting married and needed something more practical.
All my sportscars (OK, this car is just borderline sporty) have been in black (just a thing I have) - and with a thorough stack of receipts for maintenance parts he's been replacing the last year to get it in shape, and a good price, I just couldn't pass this.
This is actually my first Honda. Strange, as I'm a big Honda nut, but I guess I never found the right car for the right price.
I always tend to leave the sensible part of my brain home when buying cars like these, but I got a feeling this will hold up much better than my past impulse purchases
I LOVE buying cars like these cash. Cheap cars are always the most fun cars I've owned, because they just provide careless motoring!

I will change them to something more classic Honda-style when the rubber is worn out, still got a good season or two to go!
I didn't have a chance for some proper twisties (I live in the middle of the city), but it felt very good the time I drove it. Only a minor suspension noise to be addressed, otherwise it was a very tight and nimble feeling car - looking forward to some fast driving tomorrow

They are indeed very rare in my corner of the world (Scandinavia) also. I don't recall seeing one on the road for years!
Pictures as promised! Drove about 60 miles today... The car is indeed a hoot to drive! Tons of noise, my head hurts (because race car). Heavy steering on a parking lot, won't be parallel parking this thing very often... Lots and lots of torque steer as well, but that's just one good reason to be involved in the driving! Won't be fiddling with gadgets when driving this, that's for sure.
The interior is very nice and clean, so is the exterior. Money well spent. Could anyone here find out if my car has a VTEC system? Because just around 4000 rpm I think something similar kicks is - after a small nudge the rpm needle just goes lightspeed (FUN!!!!!!!). Also, what's the 0-62 mph time for this thing?
Can't wait for the 750 miles roadtrip on Thursday, my head's gonna implode after the first ~350 miles

Look at the engine number - just to the left of the exhaust manifold, next to the gearbox
B16A1 is the code your are looking for.
but generally they have the rear panel between the rear lights that says vtec, the badge on the back should say 1.6i-vt and the engine cover should say DOHC Vtec

i dont think it will be a vtec as that is a none vtec shell, the headlights are the wrong shape and the bumper is wrong, easiest way to tell is on a none vtec the cambelt is on the right side of the engine when you look at it, a vtec is on the left side, the engine code for a none vtec is a d16 where as a vtec will be a b16a1.
the small boost you feel wont be vtec kicking in at 4000rpm as that is too low, vtec doesnt engage untill 5750 on these.
does look a very clean shell, not very often you see them anymore with rear arches they are usually all fallen off by now. Had a 1991 crx vtec as my first car and absolutely loved it
