Vauxhall Insignia SRI
Discussion
Very nice, I like 'em in white.
Insignia's get a lot of stick on here, but we've had two new ones and been very happy with them.
Prepare for some stiff depreciation though, however if you keep it, it will be guaranteed for 100k miles to the ORIGINAL OWNER.
Mrs WR bought a limited edition Astra VXR artic, and has only put on 7k in two nearly two years so we are planning on keeping it for many years...

On my third never had a issue with one yet. Don't mention Vauxhalls on here mate particularly if you happen to be pleased with it.
Insignia was the first of a new range of Vauxhalls that started with a clean sheet so for those who have not experienced one I would encourage you to try one they are much better than previous offerings.

As much as I hate to jump on the bandwagon......
The cars are decent enough, but the service at dealers can be shocking.
I've been driving company supplied Insignias for the last 100k, putting around 25k on a 130ps CDTI, and 75k in less than two years on a 160ps Ecoflex.
The 130ps, although obviously not as powerful, was a nicer engine to use, the ecoflex model seems to have a hole in the delivery just off idle, which makes pulling away frustrating.
You've probably done well choosing white, as the carbon black metallic is the worst quality paint I've ever had on any car.
Otherwise, I've not got too may moans about the car itself, okay its a big old bloaty thing and the steering loads up suddenly just off centre, but its never going to be a fun drive so I can't whip it for that. what it does do is feel composed and secure on the motorway, in comfort and returns one or two MPG either side of 50.
My main moan, and one that has led to these cars being removed from my company car list, is the problems that I have every time it goes near a Vauxhall dealer. Theses have included:
Theft of personnal belongings from the car while in for service.
Telling me I had made a mistake in my service booking, as they had no record of me booking it in, but agreeing that they had booked a loan car, actually was quite funny having the service manager explain his logic that time.
A full scale argument between service receptionist and manager, including plenty of "colourful" language infront of me and my 3 year old son.
Reversing the car out of the service bay into a bollard (in full view of me sitting in the reception area) getting out, checking the damage, then handing the keys to me if nothing had happened.
When repairing the car after the above fiasco, announcing that during the service they had replaced the rear brake pads as they were getting low.
Playing dumb when 4 weeks later, the car had to be recivered due to the original rear pads were metal on metal (the leasing company loved that)
Playing dumb when I asked them to recover the car 45 miles after the 40k service as I was not happy with the oil that was dripping out of the car, when I say dripping, I was pulled over by a traffic womble on the M40 as he was concerned that the car was causing a danger to other road users, the dealers response, the oil filter housing must have "unscrewed itself"
Not completing a service, but not actually bothering to tell me until I went back to collect the car at the agreed time, as they couldn't find the alloy wheel locking nut key. I could understand that actually, if the car was not fitted with steel wheels and trims, and no locking nuts.
Actually, in the interest of fairness, the last time I had to visit a dealer, I was in the north east, and they couldn't have been better, so maybe I've been unlucky at the previous three dealers.
Hope you have better luck than me.

I do not generally like Vauxhalls, but when I first saw the Insignia at the motorshow I was really impressed with the interior, and figured it would give Ford a major problem. I rented one in France last year and I was thoroughly impressed, it was a hatch, rear visibility was poor, and it was enormous, but it was a really nice car.
Having owned the previous model...Vectra Sri
I can empathise with you...
An oil leak checked at the local dealership turned into a tale of woe..
And passing the buck to and fro between staff..
When the job was finally fixed,it was the air-con compressor...not the power steering pump, oil cooler etc etc..
Worse still they put the car back together minus various screws, trim fixings and each wheel missing wheel nuts..!!
Good luck OP...

Snap, I nearly posted my various tales of woe when I owned an Astra but decided not to make the thread depressing.I can empathise with you...

I've been in an Insignia however and think its a pretty nice place to be although I've not drive one, I also like the look of the car!
I'm sure there's plenty of other woeful manufacturer dealerships as well.
