Those of you who are familiar with my other thread 'My Clio Williams 3' (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=47&t=1070914&mid=96210&i=0&nmt=My+Clio+Williams+3&mid=96210) will know that I bought a Clio Williams to use as a Winter hack and then to bring it back to its former glory. Well that project turned into a love affair and is nearing completion (will update the other thread when I get it back) so I need another. And what better car than another Clio Williams, this time a '2'.

Pics to follow when I get but it but needless to say is in a bit of a state. The alloys have been refurbed already so that's £350 saved. It doesn't have a sunroof either thank god!

I'm intending to again, bring it back to its former glory but then sell it on as a well looked after example of these are becoming highly desirable.

The 3 has a sunroof and is a slightly different shade of blue to the 1 and 2.

My thoughts exactly. If it was a 3 for sale I wouldn't have gone anywhere near it!

Train ticket from Newcastle - Norwich booked for next Tuesday which departs at 7.28am. It's going to be a long day as it's 5+ hours to drive back, so plenty of time to get accustomed to it!

This is great, looks like this may need more bodywork job and than painting, and notice the drilled rear discs.

Great car getting the deserved treatment soon, keep it up.

Followed your last thread with interest, and I'm sure this one will be equally as good, especially as I've always had a soft spot for French hot hatches! What are your plans for the bodywork, will it need a full strip down to bare metal or is it a little easier than that? I'm quite happy to do a bit of spannering but that would be way beyond my skills!

cool, will watch with interest. What's the rough price territory these go for? (I've no idea)

Well I got my other Williams for less than £1k, but with these cars you get what you pay for (I've since spent close to £4k on it!). A fully restored one can go from £3k upwards depending on the level of detail.

Bodywork I'm not going to touch myself. It'll be a bodyshop that will do the work as I have zero knowledge on paint or bodywork. I'm going to spend as much time and effort on this one as my other one. Someone will be getting a well sorted motor when I've finished.

Glad to see you tackling another project!

Please put my name down in the queue for the finished article, when it's done (I'm serious).

You have time though... Off to the US 'til around April 2014!

Good luck - looks like a fair amount of work on this one!
