Two years after deciding to rebuild our race spec locost for the road it is finally complete (well IVA'd, taxed and legal, not sure these things are ever finished)

previous thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

The car is it is now, only issue is fractures in the front wing stays which happened before and have been a bit of a pet problem with these, will get them sorted though

might take it to the big breakfast at malton in october depending on weather and may fit in a trackday before the end of the year, shame summers almost over though!

Thanks, the vinyl was some different widths of blue and black from ebay and then patience / trial and error

key seemed to be getting it warm enough to conform to the fibreglass shapes but not so hot that it overstretches / melts

Nice job looks good and different to regular 7 type cars with the graphics on it. With the sun now out time to have some fun with it. Im building a mev exocet so can't wait to get mine on the road.

Got to be one of the nicest Locosts I've seen. Too many of them end up looking unfinished and a bit slab sided but the graphics really work well with the shape of the car. Nice Job thumbup

Thanks guys, yeah with a bit of luck the sun will hang around a while yet

They do tend to look slab sided yes which was one of the reasons for having a go at the graphics, when it was just plain white the body shape all merged into one form with nothing really to look at

remains to be seen how well they'll last but it's not going to do huge miles and put some coats of lacquer over the stripes so should be okay, can always take them off and try something else down the line

Its from Stang down towards Reeth, might be able to do it on the weekend if there is enough time
