Quite new to me - e39 M5

I love reader's cars on this site with some insane projects. My entry is modest but having given it a bit a clean this afternoon I thought it time to post up some pics and give an intro.
I didn't drive for nearly 8 years after moving to London but when I did again it was in my brother's 330ci down the a303. At that point I realised what I had been missing and set about acquiring myself a suitable vehicle. It would have to be fast and German. I bought a 2 litre audi a3...after some further consideration (about 8 months) I got myself a z4mr. This was a distinct improvement on my earlier choice. I settled on the convertible as i felt this was a better bet for a 2 seater, but a very tough call against the z4mc. I had that car for a couple of years (great times) until life changed and I found myself to be a father.
I sensibly decided a 330i saloon was called for as a cheaper car to buy and run now my priorities had changed. Again this lasted about 8 months, it was simply too small and slow for my needs. This led me to where I am now, the mighty M5. Possibly the greatest family saloon ever and definitely the best under 10k. Enough waffle...here it is today:
All I can say is that after 4 months we're in love. Even my wife has bonded with the silver beast. Daughter seems very happy in the back too! She has a couple of choice mods...kw v3 coil overs and a short shift kit. Next is a back box delete, I had intended to do this already but general maintenance and b
d vandals ripping off the wing mirror cut into my noise funds. Assuming she continues to deliver faultless service it's on her Christmas list. She's been to Phil Crouch for a check up and general service and is running tighter than ever. If you're thinking of getting one go for it, these cars are brilliant all rounders and still have plenty of road presence. I love it!

The E39 is my favourite M5, the combination of looks, the lovely wood finished interior, the amazing seats, limousine comfort and one hell of an engine when you put your foot down does it for me. Absolutely stonking cars, yours is a beauty, enjoy it.
Funny you mention the wood interior, mine came with the walnut trim. I didn't get on with it as I felt it a bit out of sync with the rest of the car - its sliver with silverstone (black/grey) seats. I ended up changing to the standard m5 trim instead, personally I prefer the look of the brushed metal effect but understand there are wood fans too!
looks like its been well looked after,and as everyone else says, its the best 5 they will probably ever do.
Id hate to have to park that beast on the street, would be to paranoid about door dents,and general vandalism.It definately deserves off road parking with CCTV or preferably a garage.
