Chevrolet Lumina SS Coupe / Holden Monaro
Discussion
I recently picked up what is the quickest and most awesome car I've ever owned. 2005 Chevrolet Lumina SS Coupe. A Holden / Vauxhall Monaro in Middle Eastern market flavour.
It might be a bit tatty round the edges (well, all over the front...) and require a little bit of TLC, but I quite like the Knight Rider / Mad Max look about it...and I'll never tire of the exhaust note.
A few pics...

Just need to polish a bit of life into the headlights and get a decent camera!

Nice - looks quite subtle and understated compared to the brash UK monaros
I take it the Chevy Lumina is the new name GM invented for it once they killed off Pontiac and the car could no longer be called the Pontiac GTO?
Cheers, it is certainly a bit more subtle than the VXR!I take it the Chevy Lumina is the new name GM invented for it once they killed off Pontiac and the car could no longer be called the Pontiac GTO?
The 'Lumina' is a badge engineered Holden Commodore/Monaro, although they stopped selling them in KSA in 2009. My Monaro/Lumina Coupe is simply a Holden Monaro CV8 with Chevy badges and LHD.
The GTO ran concurrently with the Lumina (so you had three differently branded Monaros all at once!) and was more like the VXR than the CV8 (more power etc). It was replaced by the Pontiac G8 saloon which was then killed off in 2009 ish. The G8 was similar to the Vauxhall VXR8 in the UK and the Commodore SS/HSV etc in Australia. Not confusing at all!
