Had the S about a month now, its the first Vtec car I have experienced and it is pretty addictive to say the least! The back to basics driving is great, agile and grippy chassis, front mid-engine layout gives a neutral feel when pressing on. Not had any hairy moments as yet (hope i don't) but am aware of the skittish reputation of the early cars!

Bit about the car;

UKDM S2k '99 2 owners from new (last since 2002) full H S/H, 56k, included red hardtop. Needed a new clutch so been replaced along with new front Bridgestones. Looked at quite a few, various age ranges but this one stood out in terms of condition / history & right price. It's only a weekend car so the Geo issues with these are not too prevalent (although polybushing is a future plan) So far though it drives spot on, so just enjoying it for now.

Cheers for the link update! Yeah i did have some very dubious quotes but ended up on a classic policy 6k per year - insured with my old man on cover £370 for the year without any NCB for either of us. Pays to shop around it seems

Well we cheated a bit I'm 32 and my old man is 64 - we registered car to him hence the low price - however it cost nothing for me on a named basis so the £370 would be the same for my old man alone. This is without any NCD as he uses it on his daily car, but you do build up a second lot of NCD on the S too.

Congrats on the car. I've had mine for a whole 4 months and loving every minute of it.

However from what you've said about your insurance it almost sounds like fronting. Apologies if incorrect and I missed the bit where your sharing with your old man

Yeah they are a lot of fun. Its not fronting though, i bought the car with my old man - car is registered to him and he is insured as the principle owner/driver, car stays at registered keepers address so its all above board. I am genuine named driver status it just didn't cost anything to add me. Insurer is Classicline if anyone else needs quotes. The quotes i got with me as the owner and him named were 3 times this!
