Hi All,

Recently picked up a new car for my wife to replace her Focus Estate which had seen better days (frankly it was dying).

Firstly use a bit of child labour to clean out the trade in:

New car at the garage:

It's a 1.6 Petrol 'Tekna' in 'nightshade' (black/purple) with the only additional option being the leather arm-rest:

Passing the three year old test:

First impressions are - it's comfortable, well equipped (sat nav, auto-lights/wipers, usb, folding mirrors, cruise control) but a bit gutless on the motorway. Perfect for around town though.

Then my current run of bad luck spread (TVR is currently waiting on a new clutch, looking like the head gasket has gone in my Daily Driver) and this happens with only 240 miles on the clock (and less than a week old):

Bah humbug.

Big thanks to James @ Glyn Hopkins Milton Keynes for all his help

A few people give these some stick over the looks but I really like them.

Hope it proves to be a good motor for you, enjoy.

More fun to drive quickly than they have any right to be. I really like them, good effort.

It's been nicknamed "The Frog" by a good mate - i like the front end, not 100% sold on the rear though.

Also it's odd driving it at night as the lights that come over the top of the bonnet are lit up and you can see them from the cabin quite clearly.

I quite like them also so will be visiting the Nissan dealer when we are looking for a new car for the wife. Now just swap the engine for one from a GT-R....

I think it`s quite a nice antidote to all the Black on Black with Silver Plastic bits everyone else seems to use now.

Looking at you in particular, BMW.

OP firstly a big get well soon to the TVR i think all of PH is with me on that one thumbup

However, the Juke......it's awful tbh. Bad looks and naff interior colour. As one of those chelsea school run mum cars it does the job i suppose but bad loss of PH points for that.

Also FYI you may no longer wear tweed because of it! (unrelated thread hehe)

Choice was silver or red... Or pay £2k extra to have the special edition where you got satin silver door mirrors/handles and white trim inside (white stitching on the leather and a white console).

I'm still not sure why anyone would buy one of these over a normal hatchback, or a small sized estate like you previously had.

Especially given they're so fking ugly.

That said, you're happy with it, so c'est la vie.

That interior is ghastly! Is that an optional extra or something?

Used to hate these but they're definitely growing on me... Just being different for the sake of being different - I like.

I really like the Juke. They are good VFM.

What was so wrong with the Focus Estate?

I actually really really like these, even though the interior is a bit of an odd colour on this one!

Generally coming to the end of its life. It was a cat d write off when we brought it three years ago. Was struggling to start, hesitating at 3k rpm and the engine was making some interesting sounds.

The choice was to shove £1k at it and try and fix it or take the £300 trade in value and walk away.

The Juke is on a service plan and costing us £240ish a month. Also better on fuel and lower tax etc.

I've never owned a car that has polarized opinion quite so much hehe

Had one for a month whilst my GTR was waiting for Dampers from Holland.
Didn't like it. In Economy mode, I was getting overtaken by mobility scooters.
In Sport mode, the throttle response at low revs was so vicious, it drove like a Kangaroo on extacy.
