X Pack Mk2 RS 2000
Discussion
Hello everyone,
I recently joined the forum but ive been reading it for a while, i was browsing the readers cars and noticed a few people have managed to find some of their old cars. My dad has resored a Mk1 RS2000 and a mk2 RS2000, i thought id post and see if anyone had any info about the cars before they joined out family?
Ive tried to add a few photo's of the cars, id guess they look a little different now though!
the cars are;
JOJ287N Mk1 RS2000
TFY369V Mk2 RS2000 (which was 1st registered in liverpool)
If i get enough interest ill see what other pictures my dads got and show 'em off!

Cheers!

Since you replied so quickly i found a few more on my phone, as for a spec list, id have to ask my dad. I think the only thing standard on it is the Chasse Plate!

Ive just found a few photos of the Mk1 on flickr at the garage when it was having its MOT!

My dad made the car 'light weight' but after the 1st run out in the rain decided it was for the better! not really for the looks.

This picture was at a local town centre car show (Oldham in Manchester)

Hi.

I know its been some time since your posting but only just seen it so I must reply.
I owned this car in 1976 to about 1978. I bought it privately from a guy in Solihull in 1976 and I lived in Coleshill. I then sold it to someone in Sutton Coldfield in 1978.
I commuted 70 miles every day and raced a guy in a 911 and I could daily p**s him off by not letting him get away. He became a friend later and said he couldnt believe how quick this escort was and how it held the road compared to his Porsche.
In 1978 my wife was 9 months heavily pregnant and because the suspension was so stiff, and after a journey which entailed a long drive down a rough track she asked me to stop, got out the car, and said "its got to go".
It was a long time ago but I loved every minute of driving it, it what a lovely car and I later really regretted selling it. I often say I wish I still had it now.
I have only one old photo I can find which is not a good one but hope this is helpfull.
Enjoy it as much as I did.
Geoff
