This is my affordable dream car, have had it 15 months and covered 32000 miles in it so far 
rain, snow, sun whatever, she is my only car, have even taken the dog and OH out in it at the same sime (i was comfy, they werent so much..)
Its a pretty standard N/A, so doesnt set the world alight, but is plenty fast enough to zip around the country, or on the commute.
They work supprisingly well as an all rounder, unless passengers (well more than 1) or animals are a usual scenario, and now I have picked up 1 of each
It made driving a pleasure again for me as I started to loose heart in cars and the enjoyment I got from them. In an ideal I would have this teamed with a saab 95 aero estate, and use the vx as primary transport, I like it that much!

something like that!I like the lazy efficient driving style of new cars (esp modern diseasels... shh) but the vx means you are concentrating on what you are doing, you are involved and not meerly a passenger
This was my forever car, but for the moment its not to be, but certainly a car I will come back too as and when I can. Its properly under my skin
I had one of these in 2001-2 and did 20k in 12 months, same as you I just couldn't leave it alone! I remember it going back to the dealer on several occassions to have the lights replaced due to condensation build up. Thankfully it was under warranty as they were about £600 each from memory.
Fantastic car to own though and I'd have another if circumstances ever allowed.

The number plate is even more apt for me tha the car ironically! Would love a soft top liner and to plug up the heater, but its up in the classifieds at the moment, shoudl i keep it these things will be sorted, although I did last wintr without (and alot of it had the roof off too... snowboarding is such a universal sport 
)
Matt, of course you are mate! its got a miltek back box with a sports cat of unkown origin... makes enough noise to not bemassively intrusive, but at the same time vocla when desired / required
As for issues... Alternator died the day i picked it up (pig of a bloody job, ended up with the ecu and inlet manifold off to remove it), dead lambda (twice) and a dead injector, other than that, wear and tear, replaced the brake pads all around, tyres all around, rad, rad fan and expansion tank and coolant. The cars are easy to work on once your at peace with removing the clams, although I have only ever needed to remove the front clam. if yours is standard ride height wise, a set of Halfords ramps work perfectly for getting the back end in the air to work on it under neath

Rob, would love to keep, but dont have the space for 2 cars at the moment (nor the spare funds to run 2 properly) plus there is a decet possibility I will be moving abroad next summer, so only 1 car to sell (at the lower end of the market) would be much simpler.
The VX is a properly addictive car though, and certainly one to come back to should funds / space / life permit. Had a couple of low offers to buy, but if thats the market I will have to stomach it (to a point mind)

You would be suprised just how good these are in the snow I was doing a 100 miles round trip commute last year in all weathers, and the only better car for it was the lil 106 i had for a while the winte before, and the was due t the heater doing what is descirbed on the tin! Obviously tread with caution, but alot of fun can be had at no speed at all, and the only thing that flummoxes it is deeper snow! Cheers for the best wishes, so far im on 6 chancers and 1 scammer that I am going to have some fun with purely to keep me entertained
