Hi all! New poster here emerging from the shadows of PH so I thought I'd do a breif thread on my car (cue the Skoda jokes 
)
Bought this to commute to university after having a troublesome corsa 1.0 for 2 years. After 4 months and 4000 miles in it I can honestly say I'm really chuffed with it
Never missed a beat and thanks to it being a Skoda rather than it's Polo or Ibiza equivalent I could manage to get the white roof, 16" wheels and two tone interior and some other nice options for the same money as a boggo middle spec model of the others 
Didnt really buy this with the intention of it being fun, the corsa bore the brunt of that
Just something to hopefully see me through uni and into a job trouble free so I can up the income and get something with real potential! That said everyone seems to like the looks of it and although it lacks feel in general the width of the wheels mean it has quite a large amount of grip and the 1.2 3pot is really quite good (coming from a vauxhall 1.0 3pot)
I know this is PH but if anyone has had experience with Fabia's or Skoda in general it would be great to know what you think of them!

The seats don't look too bad with the colour of the car, in any care they are REALLY comfy!
Would definitely consider a VRS in the future, being the first in my family to move from Vauxhall (parents have a Signum and new Astra, grandparents a Corsa) to VAG the car is being checked up on by everyone to see whether it motors on trouble free unlike any of the other family motors...

Very nice, enjoy! I looked at these a few years back, wanted it in orange with a white roof. That two-tone interior makes a world of difference, the sea of dark black of the basic models I found far too depressing. Surprisingly roomy car too.

Yeah have seen a couple of black interior ones and body coloured roofs and IMO they don't look very nice like that (makes them look taller and dark maybe?)

There are literally no rattles which is quite remarkable, having been in cars only a few months jiggling away down the road!

I'm lurking on briskoda too joined to check out the common faults which don't seem too bad, compared to the corsa anyway...Edited by heners54 on Saturday 3rd November 16:59

Just out of interest does anyone have much experience with brands of tyres for the fabia? Currently have Conti's on which seem quite good but are the age of the car and down to the last couple of mm of tread, will probably go for 4 more unless anyone has other advice?

I've had 5 MK2 Fabia VRS with either Dunlop Sport Maxx or Continental Contisport 2 or 3's (I think) and the car certainly felt better on the Conti's and was also quieter. Great cars. I'm on my 4th since 2002. Only problems I can remember over the years were a dodgy alternator replaced under warranty on the second Fabia and the rear washer pipe coming off on the 1.9 Octavia.
