Hey guys
As I havent posted yet, here goes.

Heres my car
Its a sunbeam rapier fastback 1968, in gunmetal grey.
Ive owned this one for 3 years now, but have always had one.
So far the beam has featured in Retrocars mag and i enjoy going to the shows - well will enjoy the shows if it ever stops raining.

Ive had a few things done to the engine - nothing too much, but had it bored out, from 1.725 to 1.9cc, added flat top pistons and lightened the flywheel.
It has coilovers and alloys (only 15s)

I also offer the beam for wedding chauffeuring -

(sorry if the photos are an odd size, im not totally sure what im doing)
Cheers

It's no bother though...click on the report post bit in the top right corner and ask a moderator to correct it to what you meant to type smile

I nearly fell out of a blue one when I was about four years old. My dad went round a right hand corner sharpish and the door popped open and I was on the way out except for my dad's good reflexes. He grabbed my arm as I went out.....

I remember the car but not the hasty exit.

This might be a silly question, where does the chrome frame on the door go? is it attached to the glass so when you wind down the window the frame disappears?

used to have a holbay one years ago, it was a great car, sold it to a friend who crashed it.

There's a chrome strip that's attached to the rear window so like you said when you wind the back windows down it goes with it. As mines an earlier fastback this strip disappears fully into the door, whereas the later ones remain with an inch above. I'll try and get some more pics on too. Shame to hear of a H120 (the holbay) being totalled too

I bought my dad one of these. They look good, and are pleasant to drive, although not unduly quick in standard guise.

I agree they arnt the quickest of cars, mainly as they weight lots. However with the tweeks ive done, mines now on par with a H120, which is respectable. Its also helped by the overdrive. I now have a twin set of 40Dcoe webers that im cleaning up then will put on.

Heres a couple more pics......

I agree a sub might be contrivertial, but i like to hear my tunes and its not the quietest of cars - if it helps, i turn it right down when im in town.

Oh yeah and the front......
