BMW Z4M Roadster (Carbon Black, H&S Exhaust)
Discussion
After numerous threads on here regarding new car purchases i decided to take the plunge in August this year and opted for a Z4M Roadster over the coupe equivalent for a few reasons:
1. I'v never owned a convertible before and i intend on taking it round Europe in 2013.
2. They were signifcantly cheaper for similar spec and felt similar to drive (better with the roof down
)
3. It left the opportunity to switch to a coupe after my tour of Europe if necessary.
The car i purchased was an AUC car that came freshly serviced with new rear tyres, a years tax, new discs and pads all round, two years warranty (including european cover) and 32,000 milesish.
The obligatory pictures below are from when i first purchased the car as i always intended on making a thread but have just got round to doing it.

Impressions over the first few weeks were good and only reaffirmed what the intial test drives had indicated. The Michelins on the rear also inspire confidence even on wet days and generally speaking the car felt like new.
The eagle eyed among you will have noticed that the M badge is missing on the wing and the centre caps on the wheels were slightly corroded which were on my list of things to do...............

Nice now get over here for some friendly advice. www.Z4-forum.com
Very nice, and just the thing for a blast in the mountains.
Went touring last year in a 2 litre Z4 and had a great time - now have an M just like yours and can't wait to get back over the channel to use all that extra grunt!
Only downside being the extra fuel consumption and even less space in the boot.
Hope you're enjoying your car, superb machines.

So following on from the previous post, i got the missing M badge from the supplying dealer, purchased some nice new centre caps for the wheels and joined up as a member on the Z4-Forum which is a great place for advice, parts, etc.So after joining up i purchased an alloy wheel from the forum (well 98% of one) for £10, i figured at that price i could scrap it if i don't use it, refurb it or make it into a table for very little expense if required.
I then purchased a stubby aerial for £5 delivered (as i didn't like the idea of having a radio controlled flip flop
) again through the forum.....Then i set about giving the car a good clean up...........
Before.....
After.....
The end result.....
During this time i wanted to swap the centre caps which proved to be a lot more difficult than expected as the jack i had was rubbish (£20 Halfords jobby) and i didn't have the rubber adapter for the jacking points.
So i purchased a new jack after looking at advice on here (the Jack is great for the money as are the axle stands, see pics below) and i got an adapter off of ebay which was also great and has stood up well so far.
I then proceeded to clean up under the arches, the calipers, hubs and wheels as i felt this was one area the car could be improved upon significantly..................
Pistonheads unoffical Jack and axle stands

New style centre caps......

Close up.........

Much better.....................

and again.......

Some may have also noticed my personalised plate

I just spat my tea out all over the keyboard after looking at that rear shot. What were you thinking when you purchased that license plate?
+1Nice car though.
I originally purchased it with the intention of selling it (iv had serious offers of £1k+) but at the moment i don't need the money (ill probably just waste it) although i am tempted to sell it to buy some genuine CSL's or to buy a 2 x 4 plate. Iv only had the car a few months and i have been sorting my mortgage out so i put it on for the time being (as it was on retention) although how long it will stay with me is anyones guess.............................
