My alfa 147

Hi just thought I'd share a couple of pictures of my second car, an Alfa Romeo 147, don't think it's too bad compared to what all the other 19 year old's are driving round here. Have been driving a mk2 Punto now for 2 and a bit years since I passed my test and felt it was time for an upgrade! Will get some better pictures when the weather improves.

Good choice sir. I had a 1.6 lusso for just under 4 years until last May, absolutely loved the thing

Nice looking 147 there, tempted by these as they're so cheap, but the alfa reputation concerns me. How are you finding it?

Thanks for the comments it's a massive improvement on the punto! As for reliability, I bought the car in august with a snapped cambelt, for £180! The car itself was never really looked after by the previous owner(s). Spent a good day just cleaning the interior! The dash was all sticky and covered in cola, have drank cans of the stuff was all over the place, car looked like it hadn't had a wash its whole 114k mile life. Anyway, 9 new valves was all the cambelt caused thankfully. I got the car on the road at the beginning of the month and I haven't stopped smiling.

We have had quite a few cars over the years and we have as a daily driver a 147 JTD lusso on a 53 plate. We have had the car from new and can honestly say with hand on heart it has been THE best car we have EVER had. We would've normally changed it long ago but cannot bear to part with it and it still drives as good as new!
Please don't pay any attention to what Clarkson and co' say and the people who repeat what they've said. The Alfa's of today are far removed from the Alfa's of the 80's. But, that doesn't make good television. Look after one and they're great, treat one like a bag of st and it will smell like one.

I can't take any credit for it to be honest, I mainly stood, watched, and handed tools over, it was all my dad, who is a trained Alfa/fiat mechanic. I am trying to learn though! It took us a few weekends to get it up and running, cleaned and machine polished. It sat for a couple of months until I could afford the insurance

Yes you did

First update - 2 new tyres purchased. Passenger top arm needs doing before I can buy 2 more tyres for the front, as its scrubbing the inside of the tyre at the moment

thats a bargain, i've seen one for sale and the guy is looking 500 quid but it's keyed on every panel and not in as good nick as yours
