Nissan Skyline R34 GTT

My R34 Skyline GTT tiptronic
After selling my 400hp Evo 6 I wanted another weekend toy so bearing in mind my daily is a DSG I figured the tiptronic Skyline would be an obvious choice.
My old Evo

I missed my previous R33 GTST which I owned before the Evo as it was a much nicer car to live with
My R33

So back in October I found an early 34 GTT on one of the club sites, a car that had one owner since it was imported 3 years or so ago
It was well specced from the factory with the sunroof, uprated stereo, Nismo body kit and Nismo exhaust. Since its been in the UK its had a downpipe and elbow, Tein springs, DBA discs, Rota GTR’s and the boost increased a little, its probably running around 300hp now up from about 280 stock.
Its kept me busy getting it ready for the mot which it passed this month as it needed a fair bit of work to replace worn suspension components and it was way overdue a service so ive addressed that and checked it all over . It also needed a new lambda and a geo set up
I’ve fitted a new headunit with Bluetooth and a better set of speakers up front.
The gearbox is a delight its smooth and progressive and nicely low revving at motorway speeds, a real GT car although on cold roads hitting kickdown and full boost is a bit entertaining even with 265 tyres , looking forward to some warmer weather

Here are the arms I replaced, the ball joints were well goosed but rather than doing them I replaced the whole arm on each side

Same with the track rod ends

Previous owner gave me a new set of droplinks so fitted them as well
And also some new arms for the back as since lowering the rear end had run out of adjustment

how does the new skyline handle next to the evo?
It's a barge next to the Evo , the Evo is a B road blaster, huge grip immensely capable and hugely entertaining when pushing on.
The Skyline is a GT car smooth rapid progress on fast roads, more comfortable and more relaxing to drive for example 2-3000rpm on the motorway as opposed to 4500-5000
Ultimately I found going any distance tiresome in the Evo , plus the 160 mile tank range was a hassle
And the bloody thing kept breaking all the time , Skylines are much better screwed together
Probably not a lot of difference , not fair for me to compare as my R33 was slightly modified when I bought it and very very modified when I sold it with around 475hp and lots of suspension and other changes
The engine is quite similar the R34 engine was developed from the R33 but has a few developments which give around an extra 30hp or so over the earlier engine
Most of the suspension is the same as is the geometry and the two cars share a lot of components so I cant imagine them being that different
The auto R33 had a more basic gearbox , not a tiptronic one like the 34
