1995 Celica 2.0 GT

I was looking for cars that were local to me with a budget of £1k, this popped up on Gumtree with a price of £795.
4 previous owners, last one had it for 10 years, passed its last 5 MOTs with no advisories and it looked like a decent car. Came with a full years MOT and few months road tax so I
made an offer of £725 and went to pick it up the following afternoon.
Since owning it, I've done about 600 trouble free miles with hopefully lots more to go! Hasn't given me any problems at all so far and it can be quite good on fuel unless you put your foot down (averaged around 28mpg so far).
Only concern is that it takes a couple of seconds to start it up on a cold morning and has a bit of smoke coming out of the exhaust only when it's cold and seems to sit at around 1700 rpm for a few minutes when you first start it, after a couple of minutes it's fine.
So far, I've had a head unit fitted and bought some seats from the newer model Celica with the rails for this car already welded on to them. Also bought some lowering springs (40mm), just waiting for the weather to get better so I can fit them.

Plans are to put some alloys on it once it's lowered, was thinking about Rota Grids in gunmetal grey, induction kit. After a few months I'll see how it's running and maybe a put a backbox and if funds allow, take the rear spoiler off.

Looks good. Find a good one and it'll service you trouble free for years. My previous GT was a total lemon with 9 owners. A proper piece of s
t because it was treated badly so put me off them. I've still got some parts and an unused radiator and Gen 7 steering wheel in my folks shed.
Lowering it on new OEM shocks and Spax springs apparently works well with the handling. The 3SGE engine produces decent power, well enough for you to have fun with. Join up with Celica club as they're a knowledgeable and friendly bunch.
