E93 320d Plus Edition and my chequered past...
Discussion
Afternoon all!
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Thought I would bore you all to tears with my current and past car history. Had several over the years, some perhaps ill-advised, some not.
Enjoy!
First off, the current armada.
2012 BMW 320d Sport Plus Edition. Bought new, all options ticked except front parking sensors as the wait was too long, having finally had enough of the disastrous ride on the e92 325d M Sport. This one has the same height and dreadful runflat 19s of the previous, however I opted to delete the M Sport suspension, massive difference in ride comfort and it has gone some way to cure my pothole phobia. Also doing a lot more mileage with work now so the 60mpg of the 2.0 diesel is a lot better than the 36mpg of the 3 that preceded it. Pro Nav and media pack is nice, with DVDs for those "waiting for madam" moments and the higher spec speakers for the pose factor! (I am getting old but dont like to admit it)
Anyhoo, here she is:

It's so fluffy! etc.
Performance, the 6 speed really helps, not a great deal in it from the 325d if i am honest. Great gearbox that is really loosening up now after 600 miles. Love the car, just wish "summer" would hurry up!
Next up, the missus' runaround, 50k miles, built like a tank, offered to trade it in for a later one but she prefers the look of the r170. been very reliable, perhaps becoming a modern classic? That or a hairdresser' dream, jury is out:

Next up my summer beast. 1998 Z28, 350 ls1 with magnaflow cat back, de cat, 2002 ecu, slp lid & bellow, funky stereo, de-airbagged, 3.23 gears and a few other bespoke bits. Puts a massive smile on my face so i love her!

Have American Racing mags and a full edelbrock performance suspension and bracing setup to go on this month, shall update with pics once done.
That's the present, prepare to be scared by some of the choices i have made in the past:
2009 325d M Sport Highline Coupe

Missus' 2009 Honda Jazz EX (rocketship
)

2002 Honda Accord Type R - Solid Fabs stainless cat back and decat, 18" Rota P1s, Bremtech cross cut rotors and DS2500s, K&N Typhoon, Tein adjustable coilovers, red Recaros, funky sounds. Great car, got to be the best FWD all rounder ever.

2002 Audi A8 Sport Quattro 2.8 Final Edition. Most unreliable car i've ever had, never again.

1997 740i 4.4 M Sport

1998 Cadillac Seville STS. Great car until it boiled itself...

1993 Calibra Redtop

First Xsara VTS - love these things

Second Xsara VTS, bit lighter than standard...

1999 Cougar V6

2000 Peugeot 306 Cab (i know, i know...) Worst seats of any car ever, probably.

1999 White Trouser edition 206 Roland Garros. First car i bought new, great thing, chavved it up a tad though.

First car (only crap pic), 1996 1.1 106 5 door.

I clearly got my petrolhead tendencies from the old man, just a few of his old chariots:
1972 E Type V12 Roadster (and XJSC)

I would be interested in seeing if DOO 69 is back on the road and if it is for sale, so any JDC or JEC members that know of its fate, id be much obliged
1972 Formula 455

1984 Camaro Z28

1980 Cadillac Sedan de Ville once owned by the president of Jordan of all people

1978 Thunderbird Diamond Jubilee Edition - would also like to know its fate

Anyway, great site guys, I'll post more regularly in future. Thanks for looking.

Cheers
Honestly, today was the first time I had the top down! Quiet as a mouse inside, but very taxi-like at idle and worse when cold. Always thought it was a bit of an oxymoron, top down and derv, but I guess i'm not the first.
Agree on the angel eyes, although the facelift ones on the cab look better than the ones on the coupe, they were yellow with white rings.
Little things though really.

Drove from Romford to Lowestoft on Thursday, averaged 61 mpg at the end of the A11, in my normal driving it sits at about 48/49.
325d used to be around 35 average, hit 50 on a run once.
Trying to second guess the myriad of parameters that need to be met to trigger the stop/start is fun, almost an achievement when it kicks in!
Overall, happy with the performance and the mpg, especially as it is a bit heavier probably due to the roof gubbins.

It doesnt do it under 3 or 5 degrees C so over the winter its probably not had much chance to switch off.325d used to be around 35 average, hit 50 on a run once.

Thought I'd update the thread with pics of the Camaro since its drastic undercarriage surgery.
She has had:
New calipers and pads on the front, new pads all round, Ferodo (non DS2500, standard spec as didnt fancy waiting for them to warm up on a heavy car)
Edelbrock adjustable coilovers
Edelbrock adjustable torque arm
Edelbrock adjustable panhard rod
Edelbrock anti roll bars (F&R)
Edelbrock trailing arms
Edelbrock subframe adjusters (R)
Eibach lowering springs
SLP airbox lid and K&N panel filter
17" American Racing Torque Thrust 3s in graphite/chrome
Painted interior plastics
Here are some pics:

Absolute transformation. Turn in is now so direct and steering feel has improved no end. No more diving under braking or sitting down on a launch, feels like a much more modern car. Ride, while a bit more bumpy is actually more comfortable and the car has a tendency toward oversteer now which is infinitely better than nasty squealing oversteer!
Next plans are headers, exhaust mid section with electric cutout valve and a Hauser Racing lower rear diff.
Hope you like.
