I thought I'd share some of the cars that I've had in the past. Surprising i don't have any decent pics of the mini, which is the car that has outlasted everyone one of these and more.

205 XS

Mistibishi FTO GPX MIVEC (best sounding)

MR2 Turbo ( the car i miss most, and wish i had it back. The car that made me feel like Don Johnson at night with the headlights up biggrin )

Celica SR

MG TF (worst car by far)

Saxo VTS

Prelude VTI

Accord Type-R

Eunos 1.8 ( had to do it since PH loves them so much, but it left we underwhelmed)

BMW 523SE ( Simply the best £1000 I've ever spent, such a reliable old boat)

BMW Z3 (lost the pics)

BMW 330CI Sport (The best all-rounder i've had, it done everything well, but the M3 itch set in so it went)

I've had other cars between that lot but never taken pictures of them.

And the car that has out lived the lot in its previous paint work:

Looks like a well rounded selection!! Mini the best though of course, any more details on it? What wheels are those? It's a while since I left the Mini scene so cannot remember for the life of me! Got to be 10s though.

The M3 itch set in, so you sold the 330i, but did you buy an M3?

The Hondas looks great btw.

The mini was my first car, that is simply worth more to me than it is worth financially so it has remained with me. Its current spec is:

lightened/balanced 1380cc
ported/polished big port head
twin 1.5" SU's (pic is before these)
286 cam
race clutch

Those wheels are 10" mamba's with yoko tyres, although i have two other sets to experiment with (slotmags and exactons). It still has the 7.5" brake discs as they are adequate so far.

I kind of go through stages with my cars. This is how i had two black toyotas back to back, then the two hondas. All of them were totally faultless although the Prelude was easy superseded by the Accord. Then i had a fixation on BMW's, with only a fraction shown in this thread.

I like that you stuck with sensible wheel sizes on the mini - I bet it rides much better than on "massive" 12 inchers. biggrin

The plan is to buy an M3 although its proving a little harder than i first thought, or at least it is if you want a black manual with Harmon Kardon and a fully documented history.

I really liked it, it had plenty character, far more than the Prelude. it also felt more nimble than its bulk would suggest, but it could have done with more power lower down. You really had to keep the revs up for any decent amount of response. All in all though i would say they are good value for money.

What are they fetching these days £1k to £3k? For a saloon/family car that has 8000rpm and Honda reliability, not too bad.
