In the looks department at least (never driven either) there really is no comparison to an A4 or anything VAG come to that.

Always had a soft spot for alfa's although never even owened one mainly due to reliability horror stories, i think alfa has sooo much potential they they are just wasting. if they pulle their finger out they could truley make some cracking cars, styling wise i think they are pretty much the only modern car that really puts their stamp on things.

Joking of course; got to be the best styled 4-door out there? And further to that, I've had my Spider for about 7 months now and driven it 6,000 miles (from 26k to 32k). Hasn't put a foot wrong (touch wood a thousand times). So I'm starting to think the reliability issues are history but not forgotten. Granted it's a different engine, but I would imagine the 159 and the brera / spider have a lot of components in common.

Out of interest, what's the diesel engine like in this car in terms of how it sounds? Also, any chance of some pics of the interior? That red piping looks nice .

159 looks great - if they last long enough then the 2.4 diesel version of this is very much on my "potential cars to own in the future list".

Best of luck with it - the colour is fantastic too - a nice change from all the boring silver TDis that are all over the place.

Since we are talking 159 - is the 159 the only car to use the platform its on - only i could be wrong but i thought the 159 platform was a joint venture between GM and Fiat - but that GM never used the platform.

Could be completely wrong though - as i also read/heard somewhere that GMs work on the platform was done through Saab.
