Some will hate this, Some will love it but here it is anyway. Iv had Range Rovers, BMW 5 series, Mini Coopers etc and this is the best car iv owned by far.

Wanted one since I was 15 and finally got one 9 years later. Bought it in London last year from a guy in Camden

Its got the 6.0 V8 Vortec engine with AWD.

7 seats, 2nd row captains chairs, Bose sound system, TV in front, rear roof mounted TV, Freeview, Heated front and rear seats, Touchscreen Nav with ipod and bluetooth connection, 22" Kaizer wheels etc. Its like a dream car to me.

Will probably get a bit of a lashing on here but I prefer it to my Range Rover and its like being in a Livingroom everywhere i go smile

Anyway here it is...2005 Cadillac Escalade 6.0 V8

I like it, along with most other US "premium" cars. They tend to have something I term as an 'endearing naffness' about them which I really enjoy.

Looks great OP thumbup

(though I agree about the numberplates with the above poster).

I agree the plates are not to my taste, nor is that chrome strip across the tailgate....

....but having said that, I used to live in USA and as a consequence, I have a huge soft spot for anything of that ilk. My friend had a 2004 example as a first car and loved it. What is the insurance like, if you don't mind me asking. smile

I hope you enjoy it, decent cars mate. (although I would have been tempted by a Yukon Denali XL myself)

Not bad.

I must admit that the column shifter brings back some memories. hehe

Oh, I cannot quite make out in the shots but does your rear-view mirror have a blue button that you can press?! If so, I know what that does, if you do not know already. thumbup

Thanks, i appreciate it.

Yeah,a blue button and a few other. Not got a clue, I just know one switches off the display in the mirror and another is for the on-star which obviously isn valid outside the US. Will I go press it and come back with my findings or am i best to avoid it?haha

Yeah, the button I was on about was the OnStar and I wondered what would happen of you pressed it. laugh

Sadly I do not know about the rest of them, sorry. I will ask my friend though and report back though.

Haha Ahh right, Yeah, if you press it here it tries connecting, then says something then does nothing. Think the rest are on-star related. Thanks

Very smart mate. Have always been a fan of these but not brave enough to take the plunge.

How easy is it to get spares for?
How bad is it on fuel?

The Highlander - Thanks.
Parts are easy to get from places like Rock Auto etc. Online makes things a lot easier these days.
Fuel isn't the worst for the engine tbh. Around town it gets 11-13, on a journey it gets high teens but not much more.

Croyde - As above, Around town averages 12mpg, on a run it will get 18ish. I try not to think too hard about the fuel, If I did I'd end up selling it. Luckily tax is only £205 for the year.

What an absolute beast! Do actually quite like the look of this, although i can't decide whether I prefer this or the Lincoln Navigator.

I quite like the Escalade as well, people dont seem to realise just how comfy and armchair spec these really are.

I'd change the rims though, look like Dotz from Halfords.

Thanks Lynch.

I was looking for ages, quite literally, for a black one with the spec this one has and at times I was losing hope and a few times went to see a couple of Navigators since they're abit more available and cheaper, But they just didn't have the same feel. For me anyway!
They didn't have the same presence the Escalade has IMO. But then again, Some people wouldn't think twice about an Escalade and would rather a Rangie, Merc ML, Q7 etc. So it's the individual. But navigators just didn't so it for me and I had always wanted an Escalade.
Thanks for your comments!

Emicen - Yeah, it's comfy and feels better because if the air suspension and height. I'm in the middle of getting factory 2007 wheels for it haha.
