Thought I'd post for abuse my recent car and bike history... I cringe when I realise how much I have spent over the years... then I read Jamie P's posts and feel allot better about my spending! smile

HAd this a few years back - true 440hp, 9 sec dead@170mph qtr all on street tyres. Also did 217mph at Woodbridge within half a mile only being limited by gearing. Had I a smaller rear sprocket it could have cracked 250!

I then sold this (sad day) and the modded 330ci sport in the back ground to buy this - the only VXR600 ever made by Greenams. 635hp, 10" rims on the rear and a brilliant car untill I blew the engine at the pod. I also took it to the ring and had a blast with the AP brakes doing a fine job of stopping it. Had to sell after being ripped off by a tuning company during the re-build.

Whilst said car above was being rebuilt I picked up an old E39 M5, great car but shockingly weak clutch for drag racing. Had a tussle with a GSXR600 on the A34 one time and the BMW stayed in front! Great motor overall but heavy to run.

Sold the M5 (to much in petrol for the journeys I was doing) and got this Ltd edition 320d sport.... nice but very boring although it did go to the ring and performed ok - cheap as chips to run as well. Sold it to a mate who promptly dropped the swirl flaps into the engine and grenaded it... sorry about that. frown

Felt the need for a bike again so brought this unfinished project Katana.... lovely bike but after fitting 39mm Flatslides I ran out of time to really work on it so sold it on.

Picked this CLK320 up as a run about, lovely car but no end of electrical trickery so got shot of that.

A friend was selling this cheap so I had this for a while... it also went around the ring and with decent Pilot sport tyres it performed very well. Never got it above 28mpg though and got bored of spinning the tyres and sold it on.

Got the bike itch again so did an E bay impulse buy and picked up this immaculate TL1000R. Good bike but the memories were better than the ride so got offered some money and sold it on.

Needed something small as wanted the missis to learn to drive so picked this up for a short while till she anounced she hated it and I got shot of it. Guy came down from Scotland to get it, bearing in mind I live in hampshire! Good round corners but slow.

Got this as thought she might drive it as well being an auto, good car and once id had a full quad system fitted it sounded great to. Also fitted 21" Split rims which were huge... bling bling effect.

We planned to do a tour of europe so decided a convertible was in order. Swapped the 550i for this and spend 8 months tidying it up. great car but sold it after a great 2 week drive of europe for fear of something going wrong!

At the same time I thought we needed another small car so got this as a daily hack. Had it for a year but the image got to me along with the car opener comments to get me in and out of it! Yep you guessed it - thats at the ring.

In the mean time I though lets get something sensible so ended up with this and I'm still modifying and cleaning it up to this day. Wont be taking this one to the Ring.... its going to the Spa instead! smile

Also just got this as fancy trying a bit of drag racing again without getting to serious... just gonna add a big block and spondon arm... and an air shifter... and.....

Also have this as a daily but its about to go up for sale. Absolutely immaculate E240 AMG. 2002 facelifte, 1 owner from new, FSH and drives perfect. Can't fault it but she now has a car so I wont need this soon.

BTW - her car is a little Smart fortwo Brabus... fun but god its small.

PSS: Having written this I think I need to stop playing cars and just get 1 new one... how much are those V10 RS6's now... hhhmmmmm.

Pick of the bunch - the RS6. Although I love the SL too, stunning to look at, lovely inside and a lot of presence. But a potential nightmare. Which engine was it?

The older SL500 (230 shape obviously). It was brilliant for going around the alps and up to the Col Del La Bonette but suspension worries and roof worries and general worries made me sell it just in case. TBH though apart from some rebuilt front ball joints it was very reliable but I did go over the whole car and it was babied while I had it. Topped out at 165mph in france which I thought was quite good till my mate came past in his porker turbo chasing another mate on his GSXR1000 flat out!

Interesting history there, thanks for sharing. I'm not up on bikes, but that first pic, 440hp in a bike?! Must have been absolutely mental!

Yep - I joined the club years ago with a 999 Duc which swiftly got sold for a new Busa - have to laugh as I drove the Busa out of the showroom, straight to Big CC and handed over another serious wadge of money to rip the "new" engine apart.
HAd 2 systems on it, the later being a Big CC custom setup which was awsome! Wheel spin at 200mph was optional but hard not to stop!
The picture shows the bike after I fitted a silly fat tyre kit. Looks good but it was a silly thing to do in hind sight as the handling was dire and I couldn't dial in allot of power as it would have ripped the Roaring Toyz are to bits. Sold it to the guy who owns/owned? Black Cycles up North.

TBH the very subtle RS6 seems to get the most comments for some reason. Although it just comes out of the garage to be worked on I get all manner of people commenting how much they like it...? work that out since its a 4 door family saloon....
