Hi Guys,
I've posted here before but in 'General Gassing',
thought I'd introduce myself in the correct place.
I bought this Insignia VXR last week and so far I've done nearly 1000 miles in it, I went to the peak district today in it, I love the sound, the power and the practicality of it.
I had a 09 reg 1.2 Corsa as my first car, then I got a 56 reg Audi TT and swapped it for this car.
I love my cars, I've owned 3 since last March when I passed my test lol
I'm getting the windows tinted this week but can't think of any other modifications it would look better with

Indeed! A very lucky chap smile I'm not a big fan of the previous VXRs but I have to admit this one looks really sweet.

Have you considered any other cars before this? You sound like a young fella so just wondering why not something sportier?

I really like these cool

What's the insurance like on it for a driver that's only had their licence for a year?

I've always liked the Insignia and after owning a corsa as my first car I always wanted a VXR one. Now I can afford this I wanted to go for the biggest one lol.
I was considering a MK2 Focus RS but don't think I'd like it as an everyday car as it looks quite basic/cheap inside for how much it is.

Next modification I'd be considering would be to black out some of the chrome, window surround, bumper highlights, grill, rear boot strip etc smile
Maybe paint the grills in the same blue?

Maybe paint the grills in the same blue, just like the first Astra VXR?

cheers, I think it would look better with black instead of all the chrome (matches the wheels too)
Yeah I've been thinking about that the grill... Haven't seen an Insignia with a blue grill to match but I'll have to have a mess around on photoshop to get an idea of how it will look

Sounds good smile any performance modifications on the list?

I think it'd respond well to a remap

Leave it alone, it looks very nice as it is.

If you're not careful it will end up looking like a Barryboys car.....scratchchin

I see, well you've done well enough to have a twin turbo V6 a year after passing your test anyway! biggrin

Single turbo V6!!

Nice car OP.. I had a very similar engined Saab 9-3 but without the 4wd gubbins, it went like the clappers!

IIRC the difference the Insignia has over the Vectra/Saab is VVT or similar?

Remap won't give you much peak BHP at all but stacks and stacks more torque and BHP at lower revs. A lot more area under the graph - a lot more real world performance.

Enjoy.

Cheers for the advice guys, I'll probably leave it as it is (other than getting tinted windows in the back) as I like the look and I'm worried I'll ruin it if I mess with it.
