Very un PH Berlingo Van and brief car history

1.3 mini mayfair
(2008)The mini was my first car, spent a lot of time with my dad doing bits to it and getting it ready for when I passed my test; passed my test at 17 and ran around in this for a year, put 9k miles on it in the year, was such good fun and pretty quick compared to what my friends were driving at the time (1.2 corsas and puntos oh and a 1.8 petrol mondeo). Cheap to run and insure (£1250). often went 5 up to college, was great fun. My Dad still has the car in the garage and I doubt he will sell it, plan is to use it in the summer at weekends but will see how that goes.
(2009) Started doing a lot more miles a year due to work and commuting to uni, my parents thought the mini was not safe for the sort of driving I was doing so they very kindly bought me a nice little 2006 ford fiesta, 1.4 petrol with 60,000 on the clock. I still have this car now, has covered just over 120,000 miles. has been faultless, not once has it let me down. I get it serviced once a year, its eaten 2 sets of front tires £50 each) and 1 set of rears, I had the cam belt done at 90,000 miles (£300), that is all I have spent on it apart from insurance and fuel (average 45 mpg). I love this car its comfy reliable and faithful. It is slow and obviously a small car but I really like it and would recommend one to young people looking for their 1st or 2nd car.

Since getting the fiesta a lot has changed, I got married, bought my first house and started my final year at uni in London. The car still does everything I need it to do so wont be getting rid of it, my wife is going to sell her crappy 206 (unreliable, nasty, noisy)and use my fiesta. Hopefully she wont destroy it!
I have just been given the OK to use a works van to travel around in. its a brand new 1.6 HDI Berlingo got it today. Its got 100 miles on the clock, is silver and seems nice. Got my phone synced up with it quickly and even plays the music off my iphone through bluetooth. Its got reversing sensors and a little sat nav unit (think this is standard). Never had the use of a new vehicle before so its a pretty good feeling. Anyway I will wrap this up here and will hopefully update this in a couple of weeks to let you know how im getting on with the Berlingo.

My Dad has a 2010 Citroen Berlingo 1.6 HDi that has now covered 105,000 miles in three years - it has been faultless. It is serviced every 12,500 miles. It has been a great little van, and one I find quite comfortable. I found that it can feel sluggish up some hills but that maybe down to the weight that my Dad takes around but it can easily sit at 70/80mph on the m-way without problem and handles well enough.
There are also some minor little nice touches, but I will wait for my Dad to return because I cannot remember them. If you see him around the Midlands, give him a wave. Oh, and we covered nearly 1,000 miles in our first three days with it - try harder.
I will try and find some better shots, but this is the only photo on the PC.
Thanks for the info, I agree it seems comfy, I will be doing no where near this mileage but is good to know that its more than capable of eating the miles. We've got a few 2001 Berlingos at work, all over 100k, all a bit worse for wear (one has 3 inches of play in the gear stick, when in gear!) But they are reliable, quick enough, and great for flinging around country lanes too. Ours don't have abs or traction control, which makes for some excitement when pressing on!
